It's been 477 long days since Naama Levy, Liri Albag, Karina Ariev and Daniella Gilboa, four young, female Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers, were brutally kidnapped from Israel by Hamas terrorists and kept in unknown, yet likely very harsh and inhumane, conditions somewhere in the hellhole known as Gaza.

Saturday, the four young women were returned to their families and their homeland as part of phase one of the ceasefire deal recently struck between Israel and Hamas. The first photos of the women being reunited with their families are starting to hit social media, and the images are something that never get old.

Naama Levy's face might be familiar because her kidnapping was the subject of one of the most horrific videos to emerge from the October 7th massacre. The image of a barefoot Levy, battered and bloodied and being manhandled by masked terrorists as they shoved her into a Jeep and drove away, will forever be one of the lasting images of the brutality wrought by Hamas of that day.

Hamas to Announce Fate of Bibas Toddlers and Parents

RedState's Bob Hoge wrote about the plight of Naama's family as they recounted the horror and fear that gripped them at seeing their daughter's anguish in the now-infamous video.

The gruesome video has been shown over and over—horrible footage of a bloodied young woman dragged by her hair and stuffed into a Hamas vehicle. Her fate is unknown.

But she has a name, and a mother, who on Friday wrote a heartbreaking message titled "The Woman in the Hamas Video Is My Daughter" which describes the almost incomprehensibly painful journey she’s been on since the terror attacks of Oct. 7. She feels absolutely helpless:

You have seen the video of my daughter Naama Levy. Everyone has. You have seen her dragged by her long brown hair from the back of a Jeep at gunpoint, somewhere in Gaza, her gray sweatpants covered in blood. You may have perhaps noticed that her ankles are cut, that she’s barefoot and limping. She is seriously injured. She is frightened. And I, her mother, am helpless in these moments of horror.

'The Woman in the Hamas Video Is My Daughter'—Heartbreaking Message From Mother of Israeli Hostage

As if her kidnapping and prolonged captivity weren't enough for Levy's family to have to deal with, the young soldier was recently forced to film a video that showed she was clearly in despair after such a long period of time being held hostage:

“I’m only 19 years old. I have my entire life in front of me, but now my entire life has been put on pause,” Albag said through tears in the video, according to The Jerusalem Post.

“We’re starting a really dark year here. The world is starting to forget about us. No one cares about us. We’re living in a nightmare.”

The teenager then directly pleaded with the Israeli government to intervene before chilling stating: “I just want people to remember me, remember my name. All of this is because of the government and the army.”

The despair has tuned to joy as Naama and her three fellow soldiers are at long last home.

Despite the joy of having the four young women back on Israeli soil, IDF officials are warning that their release is technically a violation of the fragile ceasefire agreement, which states that civilians should be released. IDF Spokesman Daniel Hagari reiterated the nation's commitment to seeing every hostage released, saying, “Today, as part of these ongoing efforts, we welcomed home four more Israeli hostages after 477 days in Hamas captivity…Our mission is not over until every single hostage comes home.”
