The gruesome video has been shown over and over—horrible footage of a bloodied young woman dragged by her hair and stuffed into a Hamas vehicle. Her fate is unknown.
But she has a name, and a mother, who on Friday wrote a heartbreaking message titled "The Woman in the Hamas Video Is My Daughter" which describes the almost incomprehensibly painful journey she’s been on since the terror attacks of Oct. 7. She feels absolutely helpless:
You have seen the video of my daughter Naama Levy. Everyone has. You have seen her dragged by her long brown hair from the back of a Jeep at gunpoint, somewhere in Gaza, her gray sweatpants covered in blood. You may have perhaps noticed that her ankles are cut, that she’s barefoot and limping. She is seriously injured. She is frightened. And I, her mother, am helpless in these moments of horror.
I’m not going to post the video of Naama being abused, but you can find it here. This is the innocent young woman the terrorists brutalized:
Naama Levy.

Never forget what they did to her.
I never will.
She’s etched in my memory.
I will never forgive the monsters that kidnapped & tortured her.
I will never forgive them, for instilling so much rage inside me.#NaamaLevy #BringThemAllHome pic.twitter.com/B8BMCf5Or3
While so many pro-Hamas protesters are up in arms over the fact that Israel is striking back, and striking back forcefully, they seem to forget about the hundreds of innocent young people brutally murdered or taken hostage by Hamas on that day. People like Naama:
Before that day, every video our family had taken of Naama was joyful—dancing with friends, laughing with her three siblings, and simply enjoying life. Naama is only 19, but she’ll always be my baby girl. A girl who truly believes in the good of all people. She enjoys athletics and dreams of a career in diplomacy, and her greatest passion is helping those in need. As a girl, she was a member of the “Hands of Peace” delegation, which brings together American, Israeli, and Palestinian youths to promote global social change.
But now, one video, totally unrepresentative of the life she had led until October 7, is how the world knows her.
The mom, Ayelet Levy Shachar, also talked about her pain in a video posted to social media. You can see the agony in her eyes.
Today marks the 61st day of Naama Levy’s captivity in Gaza, along with 135 children, women, and men. What would you do if Hamas was holding your child hostage under horrible conditions?#Hamas_is_ISIS #BringThemHome pic.twitter.com/xHhdZ7aWRS

Shachar is also deeply troubled by the response of much of the world in ignoring the outright evil brought down on Israel by Hamas. It's been amazing to see supposed feminists go silent despite evidence of rampant sex abuse:
It has been deeply disturbing to see the United Nations and feminist organizations refuse to acknowledge that Hamas raped and committed appalling sexual crimes against women, simply because the victims are Jewish. It took two months for some to finally admit the scale and the brutality of the horror.
Meanwhile, in yet another show of the depths that Hamas will descend to, they reportedly didn't release more female hostages in a recent prisoner swap because the terrorists didn't want the women and girls telling the world what happened to them.
Shachar closes with a powerful message:
Meanwhile, time is passing through an hourglass, and the sands are not infinite.
The seventeen female hostages are not bargaining chips to be debated by diplomats. They are daughters, and one of them is mine. My primal scream should be the scream of mothers everywhere. Bring her home now!
My heart goes out to Naama and her mother, and although the odds don't appear to be great at this point that Hamas will show any humanity and set Naama free, I nonetheless continue to pray for that to happen.

We continue to cover stories that expose Hamas' depravity to remind all those waving Palestinian flags and asking Israel to lay down their arms that what they're asking for is more bloodshed like Oct. 7. We cannot forget.
