All those opining that Josh Shapiro would've made a better vice presidential pick than Tim Walz might want to pipe down right about now. The fact is that Shapiro, the Democrat governor of Pennsylvania, is currently helping his party attempt to steal a Senate seat.
As we unfold what's going on here, keep in mind the fact that Shapiro is being lauded as a potential presidential candidate in 2028. It bears repeating: one of the Democrat Party's apparent best and brightest is currently overseeing the attempted stealing of an election won fairly by Republican Dave McCormick in order to hand-deliver a Senate seat to his party.
Maybe this was the plan all along? Keep Shapiro safely ensconced in Pennsylvania in case he needed to oversee the stealing of an election. It's likely that the thought was that Shapiro could deliver Pennsylvania, whether legally or illegally, to Kamala Harris and help her get the electoral votes needed to take the White House. Absent that opportunity, Shapiro is now able to shrink the Republican majority in the Senate by helping Bob Casey illegally keep his seat.
Governor Shapiro has yet to make any public statements about the efforts to steal the seat from McCormick; a quick check of the news and his Twitter account shows he is strangely silent about his job to oversee fair elections in the Commonwealth. Like a true coward who doesn't want to jeopardize his standing within his party, he is trying to fly below the radar and not draw attention to the fact that he's failing to stop the steal. Silence is compliance, right?
Our friend Guy Benson did a great job laying out the current state of the recount over at our sister site, Townhall:
Pennsylvania Democrats are still trying to steal a Senate race from Republican Dave McCormick, who has won the seat. Ousted incumbent Sen. Bob Casey won't admit that he's actually been ousted, however, and as we've covered for days now, he's enlisted the help of lawyer Marc Elias to drag out the process. The state is preparing for a recount -- to which Casey is entitled under the law -- which will push the final conclusion until the brink of Thanksgiving. "As outlined in Act 97, the 67 county boards of elections must begin their recounts by Wednesday, Nov. 20, and complete them by noon on Tuesday, Nov. 26. The boards must send Mr. Schmidt the results of their recounts no later than noon on Wednesday, Nov. 27," the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
If any of this sounds familiar, here's why:
At this moment, what counts as a legitimate cast ballot in those four counties does not count in the other 63 counties in Pennsylvania. This was the issue at the heart of the Bush v. Gore Supreme Court case in 2000: Could the state of Florida have a different standard for what…

If you're not on Twitter, here's the full text of what Jim had to say:
At this moment, what counts as a legitimate cast ballot in those four counties does not count in the other 63 counties in Pennsylvania. This was the issue at the heart of the Bush v. Gore Supreme Court case in 2000: Could the state of Florida have a different standard for what counted as a legitimately cast ballot in different counties? Everyone remembers the 5–4 decision concluding there was not enough time for a new recount, but few remember the 7–2 majority acknowledging that the state of Florida could not hold a hand recount in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Volusia Counties — all heavily Democratic — but only use a machine recount in the state’s other counties.
So here we are, nearly a quarter of a century later, watching as the Democrats yet again try to steal an election. And Josh Shapiro is enabling all of this.
Some people are beginning to shine light on the fact that Shapiro is knowingly abetting the churlish Democrat Party's effort to strip away the seat from Dave McCormick.
Josh Shapiro showing extraordinary leadership in PA.

Absolutely chilling an overt election denier and supporter of counting illegal ballots could be the Democrat nominee in 2028.
The party that said they must win to save democracy really showing their true colors here… https://t.co/MFIbKTZYYU
Conservative news outlets and the MAGA media have proven time and again that they are most effective when they use their voices to name 'em and shame 'em. Josh Shapiro deserved to be shamed into irrelevance for his role in helping to steal a Senate election.
