Wiretapping, Secret Spy TVs, And Microwave Spy Cameras: Welcome To 2017

So very special.

Kellyanne Conway has been keeping a more subdued profile, lately, only appearing in more administration-friendly outlets, as of late. That may not be enough.

In a Sunday interview, she suggested that there were many ways – other than wiretapping – in which the Trump campaign could have been surveilled.

“What I can say is there are many ways to surveil each other,” Conway said as the Trump presidency marked its 50th day in office during the weekend. “You can surveil someone through their phones, certainly through their television sets — any number of ways.”

Conway went on to say that the monitoring could be done with “microwaves that turn into cameras,” adding: “We know this is a fact of modern life.”

Just know, the next time you go to toss in that bag of microwaveable popcorn, somebody could be spying on you. Be appropriately dressed. No nude leftover nuking, either.

As is the custom within the Trump administration, Conway had no proof to offer that microwaves can double as spy cameras.

I’m pretty sure the TV thing was part of that dump of information that WikiLeaks got from the CIA and that it has been disputed as “fake news.”

It’s like the U.S. presidency is now an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000.

The House Intelligence Committee has asked that the White House present any evidence of wiretapping by today, in order that they may begin their investigation.

Now comes Conway’s insinuation of a much broader surveillance plan against Trump. Her suggestion, while further stirring up the debate, appears to indicate that the White House does not plan to back down from Trump’s original Twitter claim in spite of strong assertions that it is not true from the U.S. intelligence community as well as from former president Barack Obama himself and members of his inner circle.

So we’ll see that evidence handed over today, right?

Honestly, if this has happened, it needs to be drilled down, immediately.

If Obama was secretly wiretapping Trump Tower, as the president has claimed, or if some super-secret spy agency is using microwaves for cameras, we need to see proof of all of that.

And if there’s no proof, they need to stop tweeting and talking, before we fall any further down this particular rabbit hole.
