Is there anybody, outside of his cult, who thought Donald Trump could hold strong on any particular issue that actually matters to conservative Republicans?
Slipping back to his liberal core, the gilded toad is waffling with the idea of raising the minimum wage for entry level, low skill jobs, something just several months ago he claimed to be against.
In November, while speaking with Neil Cavuto, he was pressed on whether he would raise the minimum wage.
From the Washington Examiner:
“’I can’t be, Neil. The reason I can’t be is that we are a country that is being beaten on every front: economically, militarily … Taxes [are] too high. Wages [are] too high. We’re not going to be able to compete against the world. I hate to say it, but we have to leave it where it is. People have to go out and work really hard and get into to that upper stratum. But we cannot do this if we are going to compete with the rest of the world. We just can’t do it.’”
He went on to specifically state that he would not raise the minimum wage.
As it tends to be with anyone with no foundational principles, and in particular, with this grand charlatan, within a month he had shifted his position, due to having his name mentioned by Bernie Sanders.
“’The middle class has worked so hard, are not getting the kind of jobs that they have long dreamed of — and no effective raise in years. BAD,’ Trump said in a follow-up tweet.
He then added, ‘Wages in our country are too low, good jobs are too few, and people have lost faith in our leaders. We need smart and strong leadership now!’”
You can just close your eyes and imagine that coming from some leftist agitator picketing outside of McDonald’s, can’t you?
Earlier this month, in an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, while not expressly calling for a raise in the minimum wage, he did note that he would be willing to do something.
At this point, nobody can say for sure what the toad is going to do, when for all intents and purposes, he doesn’t seem to have any clear game plan, himself.
There are no TV producers and script writers for the presidency, Mr. Trump. It’s an actual job, with actual consequences.
Imagine that.
