USAID Has Its Office Lease Terminated and You Won't Believe the New Tenant

For the last week, USAID's empire of grift and money laundering has held political Washington spellbound. Many had a vague idea that not all was on the up-and-up with the humongous and grossly overfunded agency that long ago had started to view itself as a sovereign nation, but it wasn't until the past few days that we could see how money intended for "good works" overseas was used to undermine US allies and diplomacy and even filtered into our domestic politics via a network of progressive "non-profits."

Even though this issue is in court (see Judge Presses Pause on Trump Administration's Planned Downsize of USAID Workforce), most of the workforce is on administrative leave. Overseas staff have been recalled home; see USAID Shutting Down Overseas Missions, Nearly All Staff Will Be Placed on Leave: Report. All but essential projects have been canceled.

While the final fate of USAID is in the hands of Congress, there is no doubt that the organization's reputation has been burned to the ground. Perhaps more important is the people, domestic and abroad, who managed the web of leftist programs will not have the financial staying power to wait until this all gets settled. They will move on to other jobs. Lastly, we've turned the spotlight on the truth of how our money was used to spread political propaganda inside the United States to support one of the two major political parties.

Earlier today, the DOGE "X" account sent a somewhat nebulous post.

It is before-and-after images of the facade of the USAID building; the "after" shows the marquee and the USAID plaques on either side of the front door covered.

That's right.

This is the new headquarters for US Customs and Border Protection.

If the agency is able to survive this near-death experience, nothing will ever be the same again.
