New Jersey Democrat Andy Kim Uses January 6 Riot to Unleash His Inner Drama Queen

Sometimes Democrat politicians do things you just can’t make up.

Right now, we are in the throes of a coordinated campaign by the Democrats and the media to paint the riot in the US Capitol on January 6 as some kind of seditious insurrection bent on the overthrow of the US government and the establishment of…well, we don’t know. I can’t tell you my real views on this as it would result in this post getting RedState banned from Facebook. Suffice it to say that if a riot in the Capitol put the Republic in jeopardy, then perhaps we’ve reached a point where the Republic has become so weak-ass that it is simply not worth defending.

Reporters have written about the trauma they suffered from their experience of watching people meander about the Capitol.

Some reporters who were there won’t go back into the building. A number have sought therapy to deal with the trauma. One longtime Capitol Hill reporter opted for early retirement shortly after living through the riot. Many still aren’t sleeping well.@VICE https://t.co/N0WWMEjQTd

We have a highly partisan House commission waiting in the wings to blame Republicans for the events. The federal government is treating the crime of misdemeanor trespass as though the Rosenbergs were involved. Possibly, just possibly, we have hit Peak Stupid.

But that wasn’t the last time Kim wore the suit. A week later, he said, “I wore it when I walked onto the House floor to cast my vote for impeachment.”

“The suit still had dust on the knees from Jan6. I wore it so I would have no doubt about the truth of what happened.”

After the vote, Kim vowed never to wear the suit again. “I even considered throwing it away. It only brought back terrible memories,” Kim tweeted. “I could never separate that suit from the events of Jan6. I hid it in my closet as I never wanted to see it again.”

But in the following days, he added, he began receiving cards from people who said the image of him picking up trash in the blue suit “gave them a sense of resilience and hope.”

Later in January, the Smithsonian called and requested the suit, Kim said. “Honestly, I wasn’t thinking about how the day would be remembered as I was still living it,” Kim wrote. “In fact, after the call, I had to pull over on the side of I-95 as I started to tear up uncontrollably while driving home. I was still not [okay].”

Imagining what an exhibit of the Jan. 6 insurrection would look like, Kim said he pictures “broken glass from shattered doors, torn flags and signs.” But, he said, those are not the only images from the day: “There was hope and resilience. The Capitol Police were heroes that saved lives. Colleagues and staff showed bravery.”

So, he agreed to donate his suit.

“The suit however is just a symbol,” he told The Post. “The image of me cleaning up is only as powerful as our ability to finish the job, to understand why the events of that day happened, and make sure it never happens again.”

You don’t have to agree or sympathize with the Capitol protesters to see that Kim is an emotionally unstable, melodramatic buffoon and that the events of January 6 are being harped on to create a narrative that the Democrats hope will prevent a majority of the US electorate from treating Election Day 2022 like they had just woke up with a raging hangover looked at the naked mutant snoring away next to them and were hit with an overwhelming wave of “WTF have I done.”

I have a lot of doubts that this will work out the way the Democrats think it will, but if the NJ GOP fields a candidate against Kim, they really should make sure this nonsense makes its way into campaign ads.
