Yesterday, just some 40 minutes from take off, President Trump informed Nancy Pelosi that no military aircraft was available to fly her to Brussels for shopping and then on to Afghanistan to further plague that benighted and forsaken country, but she was welcome to fire up her broom and make he trip (my posts on the subject here | here | here).

Now the screws have been tightened a bit more:
Acting OMB Director @RussVought45 sends letter to all Cabinet members that NO “government owned, rented, leased, or chartered aircraft” can transport any Congressional delegation, “without the express written approval of the White House Chief of Staff” during the gov’t shutdown pic.twitter.com/Nr8kc3Lu30

This means that there will be no Congressional delegations (CODELs) going anywhere unless they fly on their own credit cards until the shutdown is over.

I think this is wonderful use of the inherent power to the executive branch to let Pelosi and her posse know it won’t be fun and games as usual while the shut down is on. I’d give anything to see the White House okay GOP CODELs and keep the House majority in Washington to work to end the Pelosi shutdown.
