CNN Hires James Comey Mini-Me to Defend the FBI

Over the weekend, I posted on a pathetic, self-pitying and self-righteous twit who was leaving the FBI because, well, the lumpen proletariat just wasn’t sufficiently worshipful anymore. The guy is named Josh Campbell, who is described as a “catchfart special assistant to the bureau’s director,” and this is why he’s leaving:

After more than a decade of service, which included investigating terrorism, working to rescue kidnapping victims overseas and being special assistant to the director, I am reluctantly turning in my badge and leaving an organization I love. Why? So I can join the growing chorus of people who believe that the relentless attacks on the bureau undermine not just America’s premier law enforcement agency but also the nation’s security.

Relentless attacks? I suggest he give John Kelly a call if he wants to find out what actual relentless attacks look like.

The day the op-ed ran, James Comey tweeted this:

Then this happened:

CNN has signed another critic of the Trump administration.

In his new role at CNN, Campbell will provide insight and analysis on crime, justice, breaking news and national security issues. During his tenure at the bureau, Campbell conducted numerous high-profile terrorism and kidnapping investigations and managed the FBI’s inter agency communication response strategy following crisis incidents.

This is how CNN describes his role:

He’s there to “defend the Bureau.” Just what the nation needs. Another apologist for lawless apparatchiks on the payroll at a major media outlet. (I wonder if his street name is Dumbo, because the boy does have some ears on him.)

As the Daily Caller notes, it looks like he got a head start on his new gig because recently CNN has had a spate of “exclusive” stories emanating from the upper reaches of the FBI.
