BREAKING. Chelsea Bomber Captured After Shootout With Police (VIDEO)

Via CBS:

A man being sought in connection with explosions in Seaside Park, New Jersey and Chelsea is believed to have been taken into custody following a shootout, Linden police said.

The arrest came just hours after the FBI, NYPD and New Jersey State Police issued bulletins and photos of Ahmad Khan Rahami, a 28-year-old naturalized U.S. citizen from Afghanistan with an address in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

One police officer was shot in the abdomen by Rahami but he was wearing a ballistic vest and was not injured. Rahami was shot but survived.

We know a couple of additional pieces of information. First, security camera footage places him at the scene of the Chelsea explosion and the unexploded device discovered in NYC the same night. It probably isn’t farfetched to assume that he was involved in the attempted bombing of a USMC sponsored race in Seaside Park, NJ, or explosion in Elizabeth, NJ, train station. We know that Rahami’s fingerprints were found on fragments of the Chelsea device.

And of course, he is a Muslim immigrant from Afghanistan and just because he tried to set off multiple bombs to kill Americans doesn’t mean it was associated with either radical or garden variety Islam.
