As we’ve been warning, the fix is in on the Iran nuclear negotiations.

The administration has decided that Iran is the logical and preferred ally of the United States in the Middle East and that Iranian help in fighting ISIS is worth letting the Islamic extremists in Iran have a nuclear weapon.

Yesterday we posted on how the letter by White House chief of staff Denis McDonough to Senate Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Bob Corker, essentially telling him to butt out, gave away the game. The administration intends to use waiver provisions in the current law to remove economic sanctions on Iran without consulting the Senate or Congress. He intends to negotiate a deal with Iran and the P5+1 group and have that agreement ratified by the UN Security Council. This agreement will never be submitted to the Senate for ratification. While a future president could, in theory, renege on a Security Council Resolution it would come at a cost.

Now the Obama regime has delivered on one of the first steps in removing economic sanctions against both Iran and its vicious, virulently anti-Semitic proxy, Lebanese Hezbollah.

US Director of National Intelligence James Clapper scrapped Iran and Hezbollah from the list in an annual report recently delivered to the US Senate, citing their efforts in fighting terrorists, including the ISIL Takfiri group.

The unclassified version of the report titled “Worldwide Threat Assessment of the US Intelligence Communities,” which was released on February 26, 2015, noted Iran’s efforts to battle extremists, including those of the ISIL terrorist group, who were perceived to constitute the greatest terrorist threat to American interests worldwide.

Highlighting Iran’s regional role, the report pointed to the Islamic Republic’s “intentions to dampen sectarianism, build responsive partners, and deescalate tensions with Saudi Arabia.”

Iran has “overarching strategic goals of enhancing its security, prestige, and regional influence [that] have led it to pursue capabilities to meet its civilian goals,” the report said.

This is mind-boggling. An intelligence service that has not had a single highly placed source within Iran since 1979 and can’t accurately describe the political dynamics of the regime is given a clean bill of health. There is virtually nothing in this report that is true.
