WATCH: Taylor Sheridan's New Show 'Landman' Tackles Wind Turbines, and It Will Have You Fist-Pumping

I don't think anyone should be against alternatives to fossil fuels. Innovation is a good thing, but the currently forced regime has already led to disaster in some European countries, which then had to scramble for more oil and natural gas.

Tulsi Gabbard Accused of Being 'Compromised' and a 'Cult Member' Ahead of Her Confirmation Hearing

The fact that the Biden-Harris administration put her on a "watch list" is more of an indictment of the process that did that than any reflection on her.

Rand Paul Warns Denver Mayor Who Threatened Trump on Deportations: You Will Lose, and You Will Be Removed

Johnston, perhaps being informed of his tenuous legal footing on the matter, later backtracked on the comments.

WHAT'S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill...

The critters are quiet this week as they're off for Thanksgiving break — quiet in the sense of holding hearings and meetings and such. They're still out and about and weighing in with their thoughts on President-elect Donald Trump's Cabinet and staffing picks, particularly senators, who'll be weighing in on them formally via the advise and consent process in January.

White House What's Up

It's Turkey Day — no, not officially Thanksgiving, but rather the day on which the critical presidential pardoning of the turkey takes place on the White House South Lawn. (No word on whether any of the turkeys happens to be named "Hunter.") In the late afternoon, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill will jet off to New York for a "Friendsgiving" event in the evening, at which they'll serve food and deliver remarks before returning to the White House late Monday evening.

Full Court Press...

Lyle and Erik Menendez are due in court Monday (virtually) for a hearing that will help determine whether their planned resentencing will proceed.

The Supreme Court, on Monday, invited the DOJ to file a brief on whether the court should take up a copyright dispute matter involving Cox Communications and a group of music labels.

MORNING MUSING

In theory, we're entering the quiet stretch. With Thanksgiving on Thursday, one might expect news to be less news-y and hair-on-fire. That's always when I get most nervous. After all, the world isn't celebrating Thanksgiving — and there could be all manner of craziness afoot. I have to make peace with not knowing what the future holds — if I did, that would make this an entirely different sort of column, wouldn't it? What I can say with reasonable certainty is that we'll still have plenty to talk about here on the pages of RedState — and it's nice for a change that we can do so with at least a hint of optimism. I'll take it.
