We've already seen some fascinating testimony and information emerging from the hearings on Capitol Hill this week regarding the July 13 assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Former Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle was rightly pilloried during her testimony before the House Oversight Committee on Monday and subsequently submitted her resignation.
On Tuesday, the House Homeland Security Committee also held a hearing on the matter (for which Cheatle and her boss, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, declined to appear). Those witnesses, Colonel Christopher L. Paris, Commissioner, Pennsylvania State Police, and Patrick Yoes, National President, Fraternal Order of Police, at least attempted to provide helpful testimony and shed some light on what went wrong.

Wednesday morning, FBI Director Christopher Wray is set to testify before the House Judiciary Committee "to examine the FBI’s investigation into the assassination attempt against President Trump and the ongoing politicization of the nation's preeminent law enforcement agency under the direction of FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland."
