TOP O' THE MORNIN'
But on Friday, she stunned host Bill Maher, his guest CNN opinionist Van Jones, and the entire audience when she said we’d know all about the identities of the Kansas City Super Bowl parade shooters -- if the perps were white males.
'He Speaks in Gibberish': Yet Another Liberal Thought Leader Demands Biden Drops Out
Ezra Klein, the co-founder of Vox and now a columnist and podcast host at The New York Times, said he understood that many liberals would be angry at him for calling on Biden to go but that it was necessary.
Trump-Backing Truckers Refuse to Drive to NYC After Former President Slapped With $355 Million Fine
As the fallout continues over Friday's news that a New York judge issued a stunning ruling in a civil fraud case in which he ordered former President Donald Trump and others in the Trump organization to pay fines of roughly $355 million, in addition to barring them from serving as officers or directors in any New York corporation or legal entity, there's a new twist: Trump-supporting truckers aren't happy about it.
WHAT'S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill...
It's Presidents' Day, and neither the Senate nor the House is in session, so Monday will be quiet on the Hill.
The House is on its winter recess until February 28th — a fact that President Joe Biden blasted on Friday (unironically) as their "TWO WEEKS!" vacation means supplemental aid for Ukraine won't be taken up until the end of the month.

White House What's Up
President Biden took advantage of the holiday weekend to once again retire to his Rehobeth Beach, Delaware vacation home. (Did I mention he blasted the House for taking a recess?) He did briefly address the press on Saturday — long enough to claim he made his 2021 threat regarding consequences Putin would pay if something happened to dissident Alexei Navalny...in 2000.

The president is scheduled to return to Washington, D.C., Monday morning.
Full Court Press...
Again, with it being Presidents' Day, courts are closed, so no lawfare today. (I suspect there's at least one former president heaving a sigh of relief at that.)
MORNING MUSING
Presidents' Day - Though it was initially established in honor of our first president, George Washington (born Feb. 22, 1732), the national holiday celebrated on the third Monday of February has expanded to honor all who have served in that role. I often wonder what the Founding Fathers would have to say about their grand experiment, now closing in on 250 years. Would the wisdom that helped them craft an ingenious, albeit imperfect, system in the late 18th century translate into helpful guidance in the early 21st? Or would they take one look at the present-day chaos and throw their hands up in disgust?
