Every once in awhile — particularly in challenging times — we are reminded that even those with whom we strongly disagree are human, too. And even a bit funny.

Last night, CNN’s Chris Cuomo had his brother, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, on as a guest on his show. At the end of the segment, the brothers got into a bit of a sparring match.

It was all in good fun. The topic turned from possible curfews being imposed in response to the Coronavirus, to the brothers comparing notes as to which of them was better at abiding by their father’s rules. Chris then tweaked Andrew for not calling their mother enough — to which Andrew made note of which of them is their mother’s favorite son (implying it isn’t Chris).

I have plenty of gripes with the Cuomo brothers — for a variety of reasons. I do note that during this morning’s press conference, even President Trump praised Gov. Cuomo for his efforts in combatting the virus, asserting they’d been in communication and had a very good discussion. “I can say that with respect to Gov. Cuomo we had a great talk this morning. We’re both doing a really good job. And we’re coordinating it.”

At the end of the segment, Chris had this to say to Andrew:

Stay strong, stay for your people and I appreciate you being here. I love you, Brother.

A timely reminder of the importance of family — and keeping a sense of humor about us.
