Marble Halls & Silver Screens With Sarah Lee Ep. 29: The 'CPAC and Nazi Hunters' Edition

Marble Halls & Silver Screens

I’m broadcasting this week from CPAC, the conservative conference political action conference held every year in Washington, DC. I try to give a synopsis of the event, which, if you’re a conservative, is probably an event you need to make yourself aware of. If you’re a progressive, you likely want to know about it just to throw a little hate its way. So…you’re welcome.

One of the better speeches this year was Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who talked about making sure not to “give an inch” on values — both from a foreign policy perspective and, I like to think, individually as well.

But the highlight of the event will, of course, be President Donald Trump on Saturday, who will close down the show. I’m filing this following a work-sponsored happy hour, so I’m mostly interested in getting something up so I can enjoy my buzz. I hope you’ll forgive the brevity.

I also review a show on Amazon Prime that I believe is well worth your time — although I’m hearing different opinions on that. “Hunters” (trailer below) is the film adaptation of a graphic novel for a graphic novel that never was. And it’s good. It’s really good, in fact. Granted, I’m only a few episodes in, but it’s going to have to turn a real corner for me not to enjoy the rest of season one.

There’s also discussion — with myself — of Clint Eastwood endorsing Mike Bloomberg for president. Give it a listen…

The show lives below on Spotify and you can also find me at iHeart radio, Apple PodcastsFCB Radio’s Spreaker, and Deezer.
