If you watched Trump’s rally from Florida on TV last night, you may have noticed several African-Americans placed directly behind him on at the podium, a few wearing t-shirts that read, “Black Voices For Trump.”
You’ll already know that who gets placed right behind the speaker is no accident. People seated in those areas are carefully selected and vetted. And that might seem cynical, but of course the safety of the American president demands the latter, and the re-election of the incumbent demands the former.
But in this case, the choice of people behind the podium was arguably even a celebratory move given the recent polls coming out of Emerson and Rasmussen showing growing African-American support for Trump, with numbers hovering near 35%. Given the Democrats’ longtime belief that the African-American contingent was purely in their pockets, this is quite a development. And some anti-Trump commentators are not handling the news well.
Zero chance this is accurate. Zero. The poll must have only been conducted in the homes of Ben Carson, Kanye, that sheriff guy with the hat and those two Cubic Zirconia & Polyester-Spandex ladies. https://t.co/vsmXJBY1KB
— Ana Navarro-Cárdenas (@ananavarro) November 25, 2019
Ana’s dismissiveness could be termed condescension, and an ungracious person might take a page from the progressive playbook and extrapolate that further and say it’s something even more sinister.
I’m not going to do that, however. Not because I’m particularly gracious but because I’m enjoying the thought of lording the “I could getcha but I’m better than that” over Navarro. Because it’s funnier to me. That’s the opposite of gracious, I’m pretty sure.
In any event, Democrats and the progressive wing they’ve let drive the train appear to be scrambling and lost over a shift in demographics they thought would forever vote blue. And it would be nice if they took a minute and tried to examine why that might be happening. This poll on support for impeachment might give them a clue. Or the nonsense at the Harvard-Yale game. Or the story of a trans athlete who is literally flattening young women in the sport of handball and apparently (which I just found out) has no real plans to have his gender reassigned. These are all pet projects and policy pushes that progressive Democrats have been attempting to shame people into supporting. And people appear to be jumping ship. In short, Democrats are doing it to themselves.
We’ll know if Trump’s support from some voting factions that have traditionally voted Democrat is overblown in about a year. But I can promise Ana will never look back, no matter what happens, and apologize for being cavalier about it.
I talk about all that on the show today, as well as Netflix’s move to the big screen, THC in turkey gravy (just in time for Thanksgiving!), and a suggestion of which film you should squeeze in over the holiday (it’s an oldie but a goodie).
Enjoy!
