Chuck Todd Floats Conspiracy Theory About Biden and Infamous June 2024 Debate - and He Might Be Right

Though a heckuva lot is going on in the world, including the Iran-Israel war, nationwide immigration sweeps, and Democrats continuing to try to thwart President Trump's agenda via the courts, the MSM is still grappling with the fallout from the release of the book "Original Sin."

The fallout has been extensive, with Trump ordering an investigation by the Counsel to the President into what was known and when about former president Joe Biden's decline. Also, a House Oversight Committee investigation is underway, and a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the issue was held on Wednesday of this week, where only two Senate Democrat committee members showed up - but only for a short time.

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) was among those on the committee who said subpoenas may be necessary to get to the bottom of the legality questions that surround the use of the autopen during Joe Biden's time in office.

But back to the MSM, one notable figure who interestingly enough can't seem to stop talking about the scandal is former NBC News "Meet the Press" anchor Chuck Todd, who shockingly admitted in April that some in the press were reluctant to cover Biden's decline because it might help Trump, but who then astonishingly suggested this was "not a media failure" even though it most certainly was.

In his latest remarks about the cover-up, Todd floated a conspiracy theory that suggested Biden's handlers deliberately set him up knowing he would fail, which would give Democrats time ahead of the DNC to work out how to make someone else the nominee:

Look, I will go to my grave believing that the debate was intentional for that. Anita Dunn and Jen O’Malley Dillon will deny until they’re blue in the face.

They knew when the nomination was going to be, and they knew they needed to deal with this with an opportunity to make a change if it was necessary.

Fox and Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade also made a great point in how it "made no sense" for Biden to have the debate in June because Trump was convicted in May, and presumably, Biden could have simply tried to draft off of the endless negative Trump news cycles surrounding that until the DNC.

Watch:

I've seen this theory floated in conservative circles before, but this is the first time I've heard a prominent media figure, and one who, in my view, was part of the attempted cover-up, suggest Biden's inner circle deliberately set the debate early enough to give Democrats time to install a new nominee ahead of the election.

I think it absolutely makes sense, and that it's one of the things the various investigations should look into as part of their overall scope.

We all know Democrats knew, especially those closest to Biden, but if it could be confirmed that they intentionally called the debate earlier than any presidential debate had ever been held for the reasons mentioned above, that would open up a whole new can of worms  - and whatever little bit of trust left among Democrat voters with the party would evaporate enough to cause fissures that will take years, if ever, to heal.
