Questions about President Joe Biden's age, fitness to lead, and mental acuity have been raised ever since he declared his presidential candidacy in 2019, with even Democrats and media figures openly wondering if Biden - who was closing in on 80 years of age at the time - was up to the tall task of presiding over the United States.
The February release of the Hur Report, of course, brought these troubling issues to the forefront all over again for Biden and at a most inconvenient time, seeing as the presidential election is later this year and as it was a seeming confirmation of some of Biden's critics' worst fears and warnings about the octogenarian president.
"We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory," Hur wrote.

As has been said before, Joe Biden is and always will be his own worst enemy on this front, as evidenced just about every time he appears in public, where the gaffes, bumbles, and trips have become as commonplace as going to the bathroom.
The latest instance of this happening was earlier in the day Monday when Biden was preparing to head to Wisconsin, where he would talk about other ways to circumvent the Supreme Court new plans for student loan forgiveness.
As Biden was headed up Air Force One's short stairs - something he's been doing over the last several months in hopes that the bad optics of him not being sure-footed would go away - he tripped a bit:

The result was the Biden "Trip Counter" being updated by RNC Research, the Twitter account the Biden White House once admitted was their least favorite:

Biden, as RedState readers are well aware, has had quite a few stumbles during his time as president, with perhaps the most infamous (and concerning) ones being when he allegedly "tripped" over a sandbag during an Air Force Academy commencement ceremony in June 2023 and fell to the stage, and the alarming March 2021 incident where Biden lost his footing three times going up the stairs to Air Force One, with his left knee and shin awkwardly connecting with one of the stairs at one point.
To be fair, we've all had instances where we stumbled and/or tripped in our lives. The problem for Biden, however, is that it happens quite often. Not only that but he is an 80-year-old POTUS and the issue is incredibly pervasive for him. And as I mentioned above, every time it happens it lends credence to his critics.
I think it's safe to say that the switch to the short stairs didn't do Biden any favors. Perhaps it's time for his handlers to switch to Plan C, whatever that may be.
