Finally: 'Veep' Kamala Harris Gets Some Unwelcome Attention From 'The Daily Show'

Vice President Kamala Harris has become infamous both here at home and abroad for her penchant for delivering embarrassing word salads no matter the issue she’s discussing, whether it be on education, illegal immigration, abortion, or what have you.

Most recently, Harris raised eyebrows for confusing statements she made while in Tokyo for the funeral of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and for incorrectly declaring while standing in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between North and South Korea that the U.S. “shares a very important relationship, which is an alliance with the Republic of North Korea.”

Though the media for the most part has predictably looked the other way when it comes to Harris’ frequent gaffes and flubs, it appears as though the dam has burst on that formerly mostly taboo subject if the below video mashup from The Daily Show mocking Harris’ actual comments by comparing them to those of “Veep” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a reliable indicator.

Watch their “Veep Reboot” video below:

Harris has been a frequent guest of and topic on the show hosted by Trevor Noah, who has treated Harris with kid gloves, portraying her in the most glowing of terms. So the show poking fun at Harris in the aftermath of Noah recently announcing his upcoming departure after seven years is a pretty significant development at least in terms of late night talk shows and their typical fawning and gushing over Democratic politicians in contrast with how they routinely treat Republicans with utter contempt.

Another late night talk show host who has Kamala Harris on their radar and not in a good way is leftist “comedian” Bill Maher, who has been upsetting the far left by repeatedly calling out how wokeness and an obsession with identity politics is destroying the Democratic party.

Last Friday, Maher suggested during his “Real Time” program that Harris be replaced on the 2024 Democratic presidential ticket, assuming Joe Biden stays at the top of it.

Interestingly enough, his audience applauded.

“What I could see is replacing the Vice President,” Maher stated. “Because she’s not very popular anywhere. And it didn’t seem to work out.”

Later, Maher opined that “I just think she’s a bad politician. I think she’s a very bright person. But I can see them [replacing her on the ticket] because a lot of the problem with Biden being old is, ‘Oh, if he dies then, you know, you’re gonna get this person.'”

Maher’s not wrong, Noah’s not wrong… good grief, those are words I never thought in a million years that I would say. But as the old saying goes, even a broken clock is right twice a day and both of these guys are definitely right on the money with their latest takes on Queen Kamala as speculation about the 2024 Democratic ticket continues to swirl.
