Greg Abbott Makes Perfect 'Told Ya so' Point on Illegals in Response to Eric Adams' Whinefest

Back in April, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott sparked backlash amongst The Usual Suspects after announcing a new “charter bus” order where illegal immigrants who were dumped unannounced in already overwhelmed Texas towns thanks to President Joe Biden’s disastrous open border policies would be bussed to Washington, D.C.

“We are sending them to the United States Capitol where the Biden administration will be able to more immediately address the needs of the people that they are allowing to come across our border,” Abbott stated at the time, not long after the CDC announced they would be sunsetting Title 42, a Trump-era policy implemented at the start of the pandemic to stem the spread of COVID-19 from illegal immigrants.

New York City was added to the list sometime later, a development that has infuriated the city’s mayor Eric Adams who has repeatedly blasted Abbott over the policy, accusing him of cruelty, and complaining that his city is allegedly being overrun. At one point, Adams even threatened to get a busload of New Yorkers to travel with him to Texas in order to convince voters to vote against Abbott in the fall election.

Most recently, Adams called Abbott an “anti-American governor.”

During a Fox News appearance Wednesday, Abbott made a perfect point about why the policy was ultimately necessary. Democrats on up to Joe Biden could care less about how the influx of illegals negatively impacts Texas towns, Abbott observed in so many words. But they’ll pay attention and perhaps even start tightening the border once they start showing up in Democrat-run cities like NYC and D.C., especially when the “leaders” of those cities start openly whining about it, as both Adams and D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser have done.

On a related note, in response to claims from Adams and others who have suggested Texas is “forcing” illegals to go where they don’t want to, Gov. Abbott’s office also provided Fox News a copy of what they call the “consent to transport” form they say they give illegal immigrants to look over when they arrive.

Right beside the D.C. option, they note that it “serves as the capital of the United States and is where members of Congress and the President of the United States are more immediately able to help address the needs of migrants who have entered the country.”

Beside the NYC option, it states that the city “has been designated as a sanctuary city by its City Council, and is providing shelter and food to migrants who have entered the country.”

And to further prove the point that Abbott doesn’t give a rip about appeasing Adams, three more busses containing illegal immigrants arrived in New York City Wednesday.

This is, of course, the right approach, and it’s one that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has vowed to implement as well in the event the Biden administration keeps dumping illegals in the Sunshine State in the middle of the night when they think no one is looking.

Abbott and DeSantis both understand that the only way to get Democrat “leaders” to see the error of their ways is by turning their policies back around on them. This rarely works, as Democrats don’t often admit when they’re wrong, but both Republican governors have decided they are moves worth making in the safety and security interests of the people in their respective states. Plus, it gives others in the cities they are being transported to the chance to see what border states like Texas and Arizona go through every day.
