If there’s one thing Democrats love to do more than anything else (outside of playing the race/woman cards) it’s to insinuate Republicans don’t give a d*mn about victims of violence, whether it be via a mass shooting (because Republicans support the Second Amendment) or whether it be domestic violence-related (because Republicans have not always been supportive of the VAWA for legitimate reasons).
Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) in particular is fond of waving the “Republicans don’t care” flag whenever the opportunity presents itself. Most recently, she did it in the aftermath of the tragic Saugus High School shooting in Santa Clarita, CA last week that left two dead and three injured.
The 2020 presidential candidate was on MSNBC last Thursday to discuss the shooting, and predictably took the opportunity to almost immediately blame Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and other pro-second amendment Republicans for what happened. During one portion of the segment, Harris asserted it was “pathetic” that Republicans cared more about the NRA than children:
“It is pathetic, it is pathetic that people yield to a gun lobby on an issue that affects all our children. And by the way, these babies and I mean those elementary, middle, and high school kids could care less who their parents voted for in the last election. They’re terrified, and we need to act. This is outrageous.”
Later in her conversation with MSNBC hosts Ali Velshi and Stephanie Ruhle, Harris brought up autopsy photos she says she’s seen as a prosecutor:
“I have looked at autopsy photographs. I have hugged the parents of murdered children. This has got to stop being a partisan issue, an intellectual issue, an ideological issue. And I dare the people that stand on circumstances, I dare them to look at the autopsy photographs of these babies, I dare them, and then vote their conscience. Enough. Enough.”

This is a line Harris has used many times before when talking about gun rights and mass shootings, but it’s an argument based on emotion and is not how national policy should be decided, especially when we’re talking about a right that is enshrined in the Constitution.
It’s also an extraordinarily nasty and unnecessary cheap shot, wrongly suggesting that people who disagree with her on this issue are okay with children being murdered in school classrooms and cafeterias. Just because Republicans disagree with Democrats on solutions to gun violence doesn’t mean they don’t care. Nevertheless, Democrats say it anyway because it earns them cool points with staunch proponents of gun control including social justice warrior/Woke Mafia types.
What Harris is never asked in turn by the MSM when she makes these statements is if she’d be willing to do the same when it comes to photos of aborted babies. Or even more to the point, photos of the body parts and pieces of aborted babies, because by the time the abortion is done, that’s all that is left.
Let’s remember that Harris is not just a casual supporter of abortion rights. She’s all in on a woman’s “right to choose”:

She also has a solid pro-abortion record, and actively targeted people opposed to abortion rights in her state as attorney general:
Harris holds 100 percent pro-abortion ratings with Planned Parenthood and NARAL, and as the former Attorney General of California she played a key role in defending the abortion giant over its baby-parts scandal and instead targeting the Center for Medical Progress’ pro-life investigators who exposed it.
As a Senate candidate, she bragged about forcing religiously-owned companies and pro-life pregnancy centers to violate their consciences. Most recently, she joined every other Democrat senator running for president in voting against legislation that would have required abortionists to transfer living newborns to hospitals after failed abortions. In follow-up comments to the Daily Caller, Harris refused to say whether abortion is ever immoral, declaring simply that “it’s up to a woman to make that decision, and I will always stand by that.”
It’s amazing how different her standards on “protecting our babies” from violence change when the issue turns from mass shootings to unborn children. Disgusting, really.
