As if you needed any more proof that it's not your grandfather's White House anymore, President Donald Trump had a new speaker system installed, and he decided to take it for a spin, grabbing the attention of several White House correspondents.
It started on Tuesday when the Daily Mail's Charlie Spiering made a post on X about how Lee Greenwood's "God Bless America" could be heard blaring from inside the White House.
It is no surprise this song was being played at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, in Washington, D.C., given that Trump had it played at every one of his presidential campaign rallies in 2024 and I'm fairly certain it was at every one of them in 2016.

But what was surprising was that Greenwood's music was being played so loud that White House reporters could hear it from outside, creating a bit of a mystery for a while. It was also unclear at the time if it was coming from inside or outside.

"Random Lee Greenwood blaring at the White House, but not really a surprise," the political reporter for The Daily Mail wrote on X, along with a video showing the exterior of the White House with Greenwood's tune playing through a speaker somewhere on the property.
In a second post from Speiring, he wrote the following: "The president is testing out his new speaker system in the Oval Office @PressSec confirms," confirming White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt had weighed in on the mystery surrounding the day.

And in a post a short while later, Assistant News Director at Florida's Voice Eric Daugherty wrote about the president's afternoon and his turning the music at the White House up to 11.
"NOW: The White House is BLASTING 'God Bless the USA' by Lee Greenwood on the new Rose Garden Patio - the song President Trump always walked out to on the campaign trail," Daugherty wrote. "The WH has been blasting other 2024 campaign songs this afternoon."

His video was different than Spiering's and included exterior shots of the Rose Garden Patio and the newly installed flag pole outside the White House, thanks to President Trump, as RedState reported.
The Daily Caller's Reagan Reese wrote on X about Trump testing the speakers in the new Rose Garden, per pool reporters.

And so exactly why was the new system being tested? According to White House Correspondent Kellie Meyer of NewsNation, it's for a party that will hopefully take place soon.
UPDATE: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt brought the pool back to the Rose Garden and told them that the president is testing the new speakers for "what will be the best event in the history of the White House."

She said the next party is "hopefully soon."

"So, there will soon be a party at the White House, but there's not much else we know about it other than there will be Trump's favorite music playing loudly over the speaker, and it will be, as Leavitt put it, "the best event in the history of the White House."

Trump made the campaign trail more fun with his dance to the YMCA, and now he's making covering the White House more exciting, too. It also has us eagerly anticipating what this big party will be. Stay tuned!
