The ladies of ABC’s “The View” were back from summer break on Tuesday and it didn’t take long for the fireworks to start as a discussion of mass shootings and gun rights got underway.

CBS News reports on what co-host Meghan McCain said in response to her colleagues’ suggestions that gun confiscation programs like the one 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke proposed were the way to go:

During the show, co-host Whoopi Goldberg pointed out the suspect in the shooting was able to purchase his assault-style rifle through a “loophole.” As co-host Sunny Hostin pinned blame on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s lack of action on any assault weapons legislation, McCain chimed in the debate as “the chick on the panel that spent most of her break shooting.”

“This is a ground-level issue for me,” she said, targeting 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke’s mandatory buyback plan. “If you’re going to be a gun-grabber, you don’t get my vote, period. We got to have a different conversation.”

Longtime host Joy Behar brought up the federal assault weapons ban in 1994 under former President Bill Clinton. “If you keeping rooting for Republicans, you’re going to get nothing done.”

“The AR-15 is by far the most popular gun in America, by far,” McCain said. “I was just in the middle of nowhere Wyoming, if you’re talking about taking people’s guns from them, there’s going to be a lot of violence.”

“But they lived without them for many years during the ban,” Behar replied.

“I’m not living without guns,” McCain responded. “It’s just that simple!”

McCain’s reality-based comments upset a lot of The Usual Suspects™, including Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) who, fresh off of mocking “good guys with guns” after Saturday’s Odessa/Midland mass shooting, lied about McCain’s position in an attempt to score cool points on social media:

She didn’t “threaten violence.” She predicted there would be violence. Big difference. Even though Swalwell has proven to be a miserable failure when it comes to debating female Second Amendment supporters in the past, he should at least try to get the basic facts right in the future.

Disgraced attorney and fraud Michael Avenatti commented on McCain’s remarks as well in a desperate attempt to deflect from his serious shortcomings:

Some even called for McCain’s removal from the show over her remarks.

But as 2nd Amendment activist Stephen Gutowski notes, liberals have a serious problem with the truth – because McCain wasn’t wrong:

Tucker Carlson made a similar argument to McCain’s on his program Tuesday night, noting that there was no such thing as a “gun buyback”:

“Now you will hear propagandists, and you often do hear propagandists, describe that as a ‘gun buyback.’ But that’s nonsense, of course,” Mr. Carlson said. “Americans didn’t buy their guns from the government in the first place. They’re not buying them back. This is gun confiscation. It’s nothing but that.”

“So, this is — what you’re calling for is civil war. What you’re calling for is an incitement to violence. It’s something – I wouldn’t want to live here when that happened, would you?” Mr. Carlson said later in the segment.

“He’s going to confiscate firearms from tens of millions of law-abiding Americans whether it works or not, and he doesn’t care what you think about it,” Mr. Carlson said.

In response to all of this, here was the garbage take from the far left moonbats at Media Matters, an organization that exists purely to destroy Fox News and conservative media so only liberal viewpoints are allowed:

Conservative pundits floating violent reprisals as a response to gun safety legislation are echoing far-right extremist and militia rhetoric

It’s always fascinating to me watching unhinged liberals who have called for “revolutions” when they lose elections, who threaten to violently “take to the streets” in response to legislation they don’t like, who urge supporters to “get in the faces” of Republicans because Orange Man Bad, defend violent Antifa thugs, and who were perfectly content with the militant tactics of Occupy Wall Street as a way of forcing comformity complain when conservatives talk about what might happen in response if the government starts forcibly taking away guns that they legally own.

Do they even listen to themselves?
