In the aftermath of Israel’s Thursday announcement that they would bar Democratic Reps. Rashida Tlaib (MI) and Ilhan Omar (MN) entry into the country on security grounds, there was much outrage expressed in Democratic circles.
Tlaib’s and Omar’s fellow Squad Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) and Ayanna Pressley (MA) were especially incensed, and took to the Twitter machine to air their disgust.
As I wrote yesterday, Ocasio-Cortez’s tweet proclaiming this was about Israel “exporting bigotry” by refusing to allow “Muslims of color” entry into their country was, to put it mildly, horse ****. But she didn’t stop there.
In a later tweet, the freshman Congresswoman asserted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision was an impediment to the peace process, and that as a result she would not be scheduling future trips to Israel until her BDS-supporting pals were allowed in:
Netanyahu’s discriminatory decision to ban members of Congress from Israel harms int’l diplomacy.
Visiting Israel & Palestine are key experiences towards a path to peace.
Sadly, I cannot move forward w scheduling any visits to Israel until all members of Congress are allowed. https://t.co/WTP5vnt5IH

AOC probably meant this as some sort of serious blow to the Israeli government, but if so, she failed miserably. I think it’s safe to say that her hurt feelings and that of the rest of the BDS Caucus are not even remotely on the list of priorities for the Israeli government to sort out.
And besides, there’s still this, which not a single member of The Squad nor their mainstream media enablers will acknowledge:

I mean, seriously. You really shouldn’t expect to be welcomed with open arms into any country you’ve denigrated, trashed, and encouraged people to boycott. This isn’t rocket science, y’all.
