CNN in Hot Water With Trump Admin After Promoting App That Tracks the Location of ICE Agents: ‘Sickening’

Trump administration officials are seething after CNN reported on "ICEBlock," a new app designed to alert illegal immigrants to the nearby presence of ICE agents.

CNN helped promote the app, currently utilized by just 20,000 users who are mostly confined to the Los Angeles area, in a report on Monday. With the network's help, that number will almost certainly skyrocket.

Joshua Aaron, the app's developer, told the outlet he felt compelled to design something after seeing illegal alien arrests that reminded him of Nazi Germany. Because, of course.

“When I saw what was happening in this country, I wanted to do something to fight back,” Aaron said.

ICEBlock allows users to add a pin on a map showing where they spotted agents. They're also capable of adding details about the agent's appearance, such as what they're wearing and what they're driving.

Is it any wonder ICE agents are opting for masks?

Aaron added a disclaimer to his app stating, "It is not to be used for the purposes of inciting violence or interfering with law enforcement.”

Wink, wink. But yeah, he wants it to be used to "fight back."

Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons was quick to respond to the CNN report, calling it "reckless and irresponsible." Which, if you've watched the network over the past two decades, is essentially their modus operandi.

“Advertising an app that basically paints a target on federal law enforcement officers’ backs is sickening,” Lyons said in a statement. “My officers and agents are already facing a 500% increase in assaults, and going on live television to announce an app that lets anyone zero in on their locations is like inviting violence against them with a national megaphone.”

Legacy media promoting something that could incite violence? Promoting an app that protects violent, illegal criminals? Nah. Couldn't be.

Tricia McLaughlin, the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), also slammed CNN for their poor judgment.

"Don't go after our ICE law enforcement. It's disgusting. It's wrong, and is un-American!" she said, while also pointing out that apps like ICEBlock are "absolutely obstructing justice."

Let's expand on the 'obstructing justice' facet. The app allows users to remain anonymous, which seems like a vague admission that the activity they are engaged in is illegal. Could they be tracked by DHS, DOJ, or NSA officials themselves?

The irony in the same individuals crying about ICE agents wearing masks during raids, allowing people to report the location and identifying features of law enforcement anonymously, is rich. According to their rules, this is an admission of criminality and an example of cowardice.

If CNN is going to promote an app, it should inform illegals about CBP One. The Trump administration redesigned the CBP One app into a self-deportation program for those seeking to return to their home country and avoid the hassle of getting arrested.

Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left's lies, new legislation wasn't needed to secure our border, just a new president.
