2015 Could Be an Historical Inflection Point

Stop The Left And You Won't
Stop The Left And You Won’t

There have been certain years in US History where something finally just had to give. 1861, 1929, and 1968 all come immediately to mind. In each scenario, a major societal institution* reached a point where it provided obviously diminished marginal returns if not outright economic failure. This forced Americans to do something we have always pretty much hated doing and significantly change certain aspects of our society. This happens when a failed societal institution (the Thesis) is forced to compete against an alternative solution (the Antithesis). The Hegelian Dialectic ensues, and society reaches a new solution (the Synthesis).

This dialectic process has regrettably been best understood and most effectively used by the political left. Marxian political philosophy is referred to as Dialectic Materialism. It seeks the ultimate Marxian end state of history through the management of crisis. This management involves two fundamental processes. These processes involve the undermining of any Thesis that is sub-optimal to the ultimate end state and the rigorous control over the Antithesis with which a Thesis gets replaced. This allows the capable Leftist to control both the direction and the pace of history to taste and to overdetermine** the course of events.

In each of the prior years I listed above, the United States became a more Leftist country. In 1861, the economic and moral failures of slavery in the Southern and Western United States led to the American Civil War which in turn led to a vastly more aggressive role for the central government. The economic failures related to the Depression of 1929 led President Herbert Hoover to double the rate of Federal spending and this gave his successor FDR the opportunity to install a permanent American Social Welfare State. This welfare state reached its point of diminishing social and economic returns by the mid to late 1960’s. Thus, 1968 was the year in which the political failures of the Aging New Deal drove the fortunes and regrettably the policies of both Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon. This lead to the rise of Equalitarian, socially Marxian Post-modern America. In 2015, it appears that utopian, leftist vision of America has collided with the cold, iceberg of reality.

Much of the left is enraged as the New Year begins. There is the battlefield result from the 2014 elections which cost them the US Senate and saw them fail at every level and nearly every state. There is also the fundamental feeling that they have been promised a check that just hasn’t shown up yet in the mail. As Brett Stevens puts it at Amerika.org, “What we saw in 2014 is what our ancestors could have told us: that judgment is unequally distributed among human beings, and that focus on ourselves creates a lack of purpose.”

I, myself would go him one further in Alternative Right radicalism. Equality only exists at the zero. The only way to make all people equal is to make them all equally miserable, equally handicapped and equally destroyed. Equalitarianism is a gateway drug to anarchy and destruction. 2015 is the year we see that America truly on the road to failure. Demotism has replaced democracy. 2015 marks a year where the Synthesis has once more failed in America.

The Left knows this well and again comprehends the diverging course of history in their very bones. They react accordingly to attempt to overdetermine antithesis and direct the next era of American national direction. This manifests itself in the protests erupting over flashpoint issues. This is why so-called “White Spaces” are the target of demonstrations against police brutality rather than actual police stations. The protests are aimed at frightening and intimidating the people eating brunch in fashionable restaurants rather than at the police. We see that when a ceremony honoring a 100 year old WWII Veteran at a US Senator’s Town Hall Meeting is interrupted and profaned by a mob of Leftist idiots shouting “Hands up! Don’t shoot!”

The people with the time and money to eat brunch at fancy restaurants and attend Town Hall Meetings with US Senators can be a source of money and influence. Police officers can do what their hierarchy orders them to. The actions of police officers that anger the mob are just a justification to turn the crew a notch further and take more power. This is why [mc_name name=’Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’W000779′ ] was rather rudely informed by the protestors that this was their meeting. It was a deliberate hijacking aimed at sending an ideological message.

So what then can be done to prevent Leftist political action from turning America into a worse and even more hateful society that our nation currently suffers from. It will be a difficult process. The entire system for generating any meaningful antithesis seems slanted towards an antenomial, gnostic outlook. This, in turn, would lead the nation to embrace an even more Demotist pander-state that merely existed as a concierge to short term personal whims. Thus we face the dilemma: how do we overcome the popular culture that screams for our ongoing decay into relentlessly mediocre Post-modernity? It gets back to how the majority of our population views the current state of the world.

True, every day people come to realize the facts of life are something to redeem and not rebel against, but until we see a mass movement of Americans rebelling against mass media itself, or popular culture, these will be exceptions to the rule. To redeem nature or rebel against it. Is that not really the question marking the difference between conservatives and progressivism?

It thus becomes our job as the voice of Conservatism to look people directly in the eye and tell them that the world has had enough of Progressives sell to us as enlightenment. When the popular appraisal of what works is tied to the actual result of the actions undertaken, Liberalism and all other forms of Leftist political philosophy are revealed to be the failures that they truly are. When people truly see where all this “Progress” leads, they will be moved to projectile vomit. Then, the conservative movement gets a turn to move things in our direction. Let 2015 be that year.

*-I didn’t specify these were necessarily good institutions. (See 1861, slavery).

**-Marxian term for a force that drives a chain of historical events.
