Watch: Mom and Daughter Smack Down the WNBA's Statement on XX-XY T-Shirt Controversy

As we reported, a mother and daughter had a truly off-the-rails experience when they went to the Indiana Fever-Atlanta Dream game on Sunday.

They were going to show their support for Sophie Cunningham's position on protecting women's sports. They paid a lot of money to put their money where their mouths were. The mother, Kasey Thomason, was wearing an XX-XY Athletics shirt, and her daughter Annie was wearing a shirt with XX on the front and "For the Girls" on the back.

But they were told by a league security guard during the overtime period that they needed to cover up their shirts, or they would be ejected from the game.

Their experience went viral. The WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) released a statement admitting it was league security and said it "should not have happened." But they did not apologize or explain why it occurred.

Mom and Daughter Reveal Off the Rails Moment They Were Told to Cover Up XX-XY Shirts at WNBA Game

The ladies went on Laura Ingraham's show and let people know their response to the WNBA statement.

What was wild, Kasey Thomason said, was that the security guard who told them their shirts were offensive and they had to cover up "didn't know what was offensive about it." "He said he didn't even understand," she said.

So even the league security guard doesn't understand why he's being told to do this. That says so much about the confusion of the WNBA. And who told him to do this?

"Who is offended by a T-shirt?" Annie Thomason asked. "And who is offended by science?" her mother chimed in. Kasey said it was just "common sense."

Ingraham asked what the two thought about the WNBA statement; did that make them feel better?

Annie said it didn't make her feel better, and she thought it was "100 percent going to happen again until people actually do something about it." She thought "they [the WNBA] are not going to do anything about it."

The ladies also spoke about how the Atlanta Dream wasn't on the floor for the National Anthem. That hasn't even gotten any attention.

Given the WNBA's curt answer about the shirt controversy and the failure to reach out to the ladies, I think Annie is probably right that the league isn't going to do anything. The league can't even seem to figure out the bigger issue in terms of who is a woman and can play in the league. So count on them having more issues until they finally commit to addressing the issue.
