Enes Kanter Freedom Is the Gift That Keeps on Giving As He Continues to Mercilessly Expose the WNBA

I felt like Bobstradamus the other day — I had written an article saying that the whole discussion about biological men playing in women’s sports would change when a huge, truly talented dude showed up in a big-time female sports league. “Just wait till a seven-foot dude who likes to wear make-up starts dominating NCAA women’s basketball; you’ll hear a lot more crying then,” I wrote on August 6.

The very next day, the hulking 6-foot-10 former NBA center Enes Kanter Freedom declared for the 2027 WNBA draft. It wasn’t exactly as I had envisioned, but it was sure good enough for me.

He was joined by another former pro, Royce White — sorry, man, I couldn’t fit your name in the headline — and they’ve set the internet and sports world on fire by asking the women’s league to put up or shut up. Do you mean what you say about inclusivity and accepting everyone in your league, or are you just virtue signaling for the woke crowd? If you’re truly 100 percent non-discriminatory, there’s no reason why Kanter Freedom and White shouldn’t be allowed to suit up and strap up.

“Rules are rules,” Kanter Freedom posted shortly after his announcement.

Neither he nor Royce White has stopped with the frankly hilarious smackdown ever since. Kanter Freedom was laugh-out-loud funny when he appeared with former Auburn football coach Bruce Pearl for a town hall-type discussion on the subject. The 40-minute interview aired on Friday, garnering millions of views; here’s a sample of what went down:

Enes Kanter Freedom says he wants the Indiana Fever to draft him so he and Caitlin Clark can become the "modern KOBE AND SHAQ."

BRUCE PEARL: "Caitlin's not passing you the ball!"

FREEDOM: "Listen, me and Caitlin will be modern Kobe and Shaq. I'm telling you!"

BRUCE: "That's a good squad! Do you think you can make that team?"

FREEDOM: "I'm just thinking about this scenario, right? We're going down a lane and Caitlin just throwing a lob. I cut the lob and I'm just dunking the ball, and then me and Caitlin just bumping chest to each other, which I am allowed to do because I am now a woman."

PEARL: "Wow. I wasn't expecting that."

Kobe and Shaq won three rings together and could have won more if they could survive each other's egos.

If Enes actually joins Indiana, it'll be Kobe and Shaq on steroids. Who wouldn't want to watch this?

He had other salient points, like: how can you have a women’s league if you can’t even define what one is? How ludicrous is that?

I love this guy.

He continued, saying the left’s backlash against him just further shows their hypocrisy:

"The WNBA itself—players and especially the coaches—are the ones that have been advocating trans people playing in women's sports," he said. "So, I'm not I'm not sure why I am getting all this backlash. They are the ones who encouraged me to do this."

What about the accusation that Freedom would be taking the roster spot from the very women Freedom has long advocated to protect?

He had an answer for that, too: This is a situation the league created and is the logical outcome of such a position.

"These are the rules that they've been advocating for. These are the rules that they've been encouraging. These are the rules that they actually put [in place]," he explained. "So, I'm not breaking any rules here."

Hot Takes: Hilarity Ensues After Former NBA Player Enes Kanter Declares for the WNBA

Royce White, meanwhile, hasn’t gotten as much press as Kanter Freedom, partly because his career was not as illustrious. He’s been active in Republican politics, and just recently lost the Minnesota Republican Senate primary to former NFL sportscaster Michelle Tafoya.

That doesn’t mean he’s been idle, however, and he’s been showing up the women’s basketball league by throwing progressives’ nauseating woke language right back in their faces:

To my Black Trans Lesbians, BIPOC Trans and Trans adjacent... Don't let people rain on your parade! These mainstream media outlets and commentators are dead naming me or misgendering me, it's GENOCIDE. People on the left are spewing a lot of nonbinary hate. Silence is violence, where are all the advocates and allies? Who are they to tell me I'm not a Black woman? I'm slayyyyyin, kweeeens stand up! CLOCK IT!  💅🏽

Pronouns: Pay/Me

Royce White for President

WNBA #LetHerPlay

Both these dudes are funny as hell, but those who don’t like what they’re doing accuse them of spreading intolerance and hate and trying to make a mockery out of serious issues.

The reality is, however, that they’re using the Theater of the Absurd to prove a deeper point: that leftists have been regularly trying to tell us that extremist policies that most Americans don’t believe in are actually perfectly normal, and that we’re the bigots for not buying in.

Nossir. Males playing against females in serious competition isn’t right, and it has never been right, and virtually every decent person knows that instinctively.

Yet they keep telling us to shut up.

Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White, however silly their antics might seem, refuse to pipe down, and I applaud them for it. Once again, the Left is telling us that the Emperor is sporting a fabulous outfit — but he or she or it actually has no clothes.
