The WNBA Has Another Issue It Wouldn't Address, but Sophie Cunningham Shows How It Should Be Done

There's been a lot of news from the Indiana Fever-Atlanta Dream game on Sunday.

There was the epic troll by the Fever's Caitlin Clark of the Dream's Angel Reese that's likely to become a great meme. Then there was the league security guard telling a mother and a daughter that they had to cover up their T-shirts, one of which said "XX-XY" and the other said "XX" with "For the Girls" on the back, or be ejected from the game.

But there was a little more action that's been getting attention.

What happened with the National Anthem has gone viral as well, particularly how Sophie Cunningham was holding her hand over her heart during the anthem. She got a lot of praise for that.

Meanwhile, the Dream were reportedly not even on the court at the time. The Fever were, and they stood respectfully for the anthem.

Not all the teams come out for the anthem, and the Dream have done this before.

But it obviously gets a lot of negative reactions from Americans, with many people viewing it as disrespectful. The WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) allows the teams to choose their own pre-game routine. So some don't come out on the floor. Some, like the Indiana Fever, do stand.

I guess if the league can't even stand up for women, they also have difficulty enforcing standing for the anthem. One more sign of the issues with the WNBA.

While the Dream wouldn't stand on the court for the anthem, they did recognize perennial Democrat loser candidate Stacey Abrams.

So much for not being political.

Good for the Fever for being respectful, and for Cunningham's hand over the heart. She clearly gets it while some of the others in the league do not.
