Rubio Delivers Epic Scolding Over Media’s Iran Conflict Coverage

One of the most ridiculous responses to Operation Epic Fury from the liberal media has been that President Donald Trump hasn't laid out his objectives and/or doesn't have a plan about what he's doing.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio did an interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, where he just blew that fiction right out of the water, again listing the primary objectives that Trump had laid out from the start. "You should write them down," Rubio declared, if they can't get it straight. Now that's an epic scolding.

"It's about very specific objectives. The president laid them out on the first night of the operation," Rubio said.

"I'll repeat them to you now because I hear a lot of talk about: We don't know what the clear objectives are. Here they are. You should write them down. Number one, the destruction of their Air Force. Number two, the destruction of their Navy. Number three, the severe diminishing of their missile launching capability. And number four, the destruction of their factories so they can't make more missiles and more drones to threaten us in the future. All of this so they can never hide behind it to acquire a nuclear weapon."

Rubio said they were on pace or ahead of schedule on the objectives, that they were talking about "weeks," not months.

He's right, but the liberal media just doesn't care about the facts. Even as we're clobbering Iran, virtually every story is how we're really losing, without regard to the clear reports of how we have in fact been meeting those objectives and degrading their military.

Rubio also pointed out the threat that they posed because they supported terror, which has adversely impacted us and resulted in many American deaths for 47 years.

"Look at this region. Every single terrorist group in this region has a link to the Iranian regime. Every single one!" Rubio asserted. "All destabilization in this region tracks directly back to the Iranian regime. Those things have to be addressed. And if Iran had been willing to address those in the past, we wouldn't be having this interview on this topic right now."

Rubio said the Iranian regime was crazy and had an "apocalyptic" vision of the future, which was why they must never be allowed to acquire a nuclear weapon. "And all of their neighbors know that by the way," he stated. "Which is why they have been supportive of the effort."

Again, he hits it right on the head. Our European allies can play games because they think it doesn't affect them as directly, but the Gulf States don't like being hit by Iranian missiles and drones, and this conflict has confirmed to them what a threat Iran is to them.

Rubio said that Iran wasn't going to be allowed to control or toll the Strait of Hormuz. That would adversely impact the prior objectives.

He wouldn't reveal, quite correctly, what their response would be. But that's the thing that actually will ultimately cook them because the rest of the world would see that as a continuous threat that it wouldn't want to deal with. That's already prompted countries like the United Arab Emirates to reportedly offer their navy to the coalition to keep the Strait open.
