A lot of attention is being paid to the massive fraud scandal in Minnesota affecting the state's social services.
But a report from the founder of Early Vote Action, Scott Presler, sparked more focus on another area: possible voter fraud.
As we reported, Presler raised the question about the process in Minnesota that allows a registered voter to vouch for the residency of up to eight other people seeking same-day voter registration, if they are in the same voting precinct. The person vouched for cannot vouch for anyone else.
On top of that, an employee of a residential facility can vouch for an unlimited number of residents of the facility. The voter or employee doing the vouching has to swear under oath that the person they're vouching for is a resident of the precinct.

The process raises questions about the number of people being vouched for, especially with same-day registration.
Now, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon is demanding answers and records in a letter to the Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon. She said, "This system seems facially inconsistent with the Help America Vote Act of 2002. We’ll see!"
Today I sent Secretary Simon a letter demanding records pertaining to Minnesota’s “vouching” system for voter registration, pursuant to my authority under the Civil Rights Act of 1960.

Dhillon asked for records for all federal elections over the past 22 months, including those supporting or documenting same-day registrations, as well as all the records relating to registering people relevant to the vouching process under Minnesota Stat. 201.061, Subd. 3, as well as other same-day voting procedures.
So that would cover the 2024 primary and election, for example. Dhillon demanded that the state provide the information within 15 days to make sure they were in compliance with HAVA (the Help America Vote Act).
Presler cheered the action.
WOW!

This is huge.
Thank you so, so much.

That's a big win for election integrity that they're going to investigate this.
Add that to the investigations that are already underway from the FBI, the Treasury Department, Homeland Security, and other agencies, and Minnesota is going to be busy answering a lot of questions.
Minnesota officials are claiming there are multiple safeguards. But not everyone is buying that.
Bill Glahn of the Center for the American Experiment – a Twin Cities-based conservative public policy organization – said of proponents who talk of safeguards, "it’s like murder’s illegal, but it happens all the time."
"It's a penalty of perjury," he said. "You signed an oath, but if you signed as Mickey Mouse, they're not going to find you."
