Here's What Happened When 'Santa' Got Pulled Over by the Cops in Ohio

President Donald Trump had some fun talking with kids on the traditional, Christmas Eve NORAD Santa Claus hotline this week. While he joked that they were tracking Santa's movements, he assured the kids that Santa was good.

Trump cracked another joke about coal, and described Santa as being a bit "cherubic." It was important not to forget to leave the cookies out for him, or he might be disappointed. But Trump assured the kids that Santa would be bringing them some good presents.

But it turns out that 'Santa' did have a little bit of a run-in with the cops when he was going through Ohio with Mrs. Claus. Sgt. Mark Robinson with the Fulton County Sheriff's Office thought that Santa was going a bit too fast, so he pulled him over. However, when he realized it was Santa, he just couldn't help but find the humor in it, especially when the Jolly Old Elf let him know he had a concealed carry permit.

That prompted laughter from the cop.

"Santa has a CCW?" the deputy replied. "Times are rough."

"You got to protect yourself," Santa said.

Santa also said he had to protect his reindeer.

Santa explained that he was going to visit family. The officer warned them that deer were out, and people in the area were inclined to pull out without a lot of warning, so that was an additional reason to keep the speed down in that area.

Santa got out of the car, then explained to the officer he was a bit old.

Robinson laughed and said, "There goes my present!" He obviously thought that this might get him on Santa's "naughty list." But the cop thought it would be the "video of the night." Mrs. Claus assured him he wouldn't go on the list.

Sgt. Robinson encouraged Santa to slow his speed down. Santa replied, "I'll get Rudolph on you!"

The officer even took a picture with the jolly couple before he sent them on their way. Santa was reportedly going 11 miles over the speed limit, but he had a generally good record, being Santa, so he got off with a warning from Sgt. Robinson.

Biden Family Christmas Photo Has People Talking Because of How It Depicts Joe

The Fulton County Sheriff's Office later let the people know about the interesting encounter and reassured everyone that they let Santa Claus go, so people were still going to get their presents on Christmas.

"Ho ho *hold on!* Santa and Mrs. Claus were spotted flying a little too fast through Fulton County. No coal was issued—just a friendly reminder that even sleighs need to slow down. Christmas is still on schedule! Stay safe and happy holidays!" the sheriff’s department wrote on Facebook.
