Sen. Kennedy's Shutdown Deal Remarks Demolish Both Katie Porter and Chuck Schumer

The Senate finally made a deal to vote to end the shutdown on Monday.

The legislation has now moved on to the House, where we're sure to witness more Democrats screaming and spewing nonsense before it goes to a vote. Speaker of the House, Republican Rep. Mike Johnson (LA-4), said that they would proceed as quickly as possible to put a vote on to open the government.

You know that you can always count on Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) for a great comment, and he summed up the matter well during an interview on Fox News, with a hilarious observation about California gubernatorial candidate Katie Porter, as well as detailing the trouble that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) had made for himself with this failed gambit.

Kennedy said he didn't want to do anything to upset the agreement. "If I did that, my colleagues would, I don't know, they'd have Katie Porter slap me to Pluto, and I couldn't blame 'em."

Then he explained that Schumer made a very bad choice and hurt himself with this shutdown.

"Senator Schumer chose to have this shutdown—he just dug up more snakes than he could kill." He said the Republicans couldn't even entertain what Schumer was asking for. Good on them for dismissing the nonsense that Schumer was pushing and holding fast to. He thanked the Democrats who had the sense to join the Republicans and finally vote to open the government.

Hilarious comment on Porter's issues. Hopefully, California doesn't go there with her.

Kennedy is also right on target with Schumer. Schumer thought this would help him with the left. But then, when he didn't deliver after talking about it as though they were losing healthcare, the strategy backfired. They went bonkers, and they are not happy with him.

As I wrote earlier, Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) also blasted the Democrats for the shutdown, saying they "crossed a line," particularly by not paying the military. He also dissed both Chuck and House Minority Leader, Democratic Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8) by saying nobody really knows who the party leader is. Then, too, a new poll also had some bad news for Schumer, and you have Democrats calling for Schumer to be replaced.

New: The Writing on the Wall for Chuck Schumer Gets Worse After Shutdown Deal

The Democrats may have been trying to use the shutdown to help them on Nov. 4 to get out the vote. Maybe that helped, and maybe it didn't. But ultimately, it may backfire on Schumer and the Democrats in the midterms, with the left so unhappy. Schumer's actions seem to have heightened divisions and the chaos in the party, and put him in an even worse spot with the leftist base.

Editor’s Note: After more than 40 days of screwing Americans, a few Dems have finally caved. The Schumer Shutdown was never about principle—just inflicting pain for political points.
