Joe Biden's decline has gotten even more focus first with the new book from Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, "Original Sin," and now with Thompson's release of some of the audio from Special Counsel Robert Hur's interview of Biden.

We had previously seen a transcript of the interview. But the audio makes it so much worse. You hear his halting, confused responses, how he couldn't even remember when his son died, and that he had confusion about even when President Donald Trump became president the first time.

Biden was even confused about the classified material they were grilling him over. His attorney had to intervene to attempt a clean-up of one of his answers. He also wandered off into talking about weird, unrelated subjects like technology and Mongolia during the interview.

Now, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy excoriated Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) for saying they were "looking forward."

“I think the leaders that covered this up should have to resign," McCarthy said. "So that means Schumer and Hakeem should actually resign because they saw the same thing I did,”

Unlike those two, McCarthy called it out and was attacked for it.

"They tried to even do the cover-up," the former Speaker went on to say. "Instead of just not saying anything, they attacked those who tried to tell the truth, and they allowed the country to be in this position."

There were times Biden's mind was not there, McCarthy said, saying once he led him to the swimming pool.

"And why did Jill have to be in so many meetings?" he asked.

Here's what McCarthy meant when he said Jeffries and Schumer were saying they were "looking forward." They sound like they were coordinating their response now, covering up the cover-up. CNN's Wolf Blitzer puts it bluntly to Jeffries: Why should voters trust Democrats when it's clear so many covered up what was going on with Biden?

The answer was horrible.

"I can tell you we're not looking backward, we're going to continue to look forward," Jeffries says, then launching into lies about Trump and healthcare, and what he thinks is "important." As if having an incapacitated person in the Oval Office for the past years was cool.

He kept at it.

Schumer was asked a similar question by multiple media; he said essentially the same thing.

Skip ahead to 4:20 in this clip. Even Kasie Hunt can't believe Schumer's temerity with what he thinks he can get away with.

He says, "We're looking forward," then goes on to talk about false Medicaid cuts. Did they coordinate their responses because it surely sounds like it?

"We're looking forward," he says again.

That's it?" she asked Schumer.

"That's it," he says, smirking.

It's that disdain in the smirk that's the most galling. He doesn't think he owes anyone any explanation or apology. He believes he will get away with it.

McCarthy is right. These people need to resign and not face an investigation, because this was a fraud on the American people that put us all in great danger.
