We reported earlier how some of the audio from Special Counsel Robert Hur team's interview with Joe Biden had been released by Alex Thompson, one of the authors of the new book about Biden, "Original Sin."
That audio segment dealt with how confused Biden was, even over such a pivotal moment as when his son died. As you may recall, Biden later didn't tell the truth and attacked the Hur team for mentioning his son, but the audio shows that yes, indeed, it was Biden who brought up his son.
After the Hur report was released but before we had the transcripts, Biden slammed Hur for asking about when Beau died.

But the audio shows that was not true. pic.twitter.com/kGQvbkdcrv
Biden also had confusion over things like when President Donald Trump first took office.
It's one thing reading Biden's words, it's quite another thing hearing them--and hearing how confused he is. No wonder they didn't want to release the audio.

Now, two other parts of the audio have been released by co-authors Thompson and Jake Tapper, including a tense moment where Biden's attorney, Bob Bauer, intervenes to help him when Biden was asked about an Afghanistan classified memo found at his house. Biden's brain sounds like it is complete mush.
"Was this something you consciously kept after your term as Vice President?" Biden was asked.
Though amiable, the interview became somewhat tense when Biden attorney Bob Bauer chastised prosecutor Krickbaum in this exchange over why Biden had kept a memo about Afghanistan.

"Your answer is that you don't know," Bauer instructed the president.

Biden says he doesn't recall, and he doesn't even seem to understand that the memo was found at his home.
You can hear him being advised, "Your answer is you don't recall," by Bauer, after Biden starts to speculate.
But then, Biden responds, "I guess I wanted to hang onto it just for posterity's sake."
That, of course, could expose him to problems. Bauer intervened, telling the prosecutor, Krickbaum:
"I just really would like to avoid, for the purpose of a clean record, getting into speculative areas.… He does not recall specifically intending to keep this memo after he left the vice presidency. I want these questions to be as clearly entered and as recorded on the transcript as possible."
Krickbaum then took a break.
Part of the problem you can hear in the audio above is how Biden goes off about technology that has nothing at all to do with what he's being asked about. He had multiple moments like that, including talking about Mongolia:
Throughout his interview, Biden sounded more like a nostalgic, grandfatherly storyteller than a potential defendant who could be accused of hoarding secret papers.

He waxed on about several topics including shooting a bow and arrow in Mongolia.
Here is that exchange. pic.twitter.com/I6QHiomhW8
It was truly scary that we were left in this position, with this guy occupying the Oval Office.
