Hakeem Jeffries' Desperate Video to Show How Much Support Dems Have Goes All Kinds of Wrong

Democrats still can't figure out how to deal with President Donald Trump.

The latest take from House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) is truly funny. He's trying to argue that the American people are with the Democrats because he claimed there were protesters at Republican town halls.

But he didn't realize how unintentionally hilarious his video was.

Jeffries claimed that the Democrats didn't need to send paid protesters to events because "the American people are with us, all across the country."

Now, of course, there are several problems with this take.

First, MoveOn already announced they were organizing protests against the "Trump-Musk agenda" during the Congressional recess between Feb. 17-23. So yeah, you had a leftist organization organizing protests, Rep. Jeffries. That's not the regular people rising up. If the people were in fact "rising up," you wouldn't need an organization to organize anything.

But then how hilarious is he claiming that the American people were "with them" -- while no one is with him? If there was any more exclamation point of how they were not with him, that was it. As our sister site Townhall pointed out, it wasn't just Republicans who were mocking this sad effort.

I’m not saying he needed to film this in front of a massive crowd, but who in his comms or advance team thought it was a good idea to stage this in front of a building full of deeply unpopular politicians instead of going with a tight, controlled shot at his desk?

Journalist Yashar Ali points out how it actually reinforces that they don't have the support.

Then too, Jeffries even got called out when he tried a similar take with CNN's Jake Tapper, and Tapper had to remind him that Congressional Democrats had a 21 percent approval and a 68 percent disapproval rating in a recent Quinnipiac poll.

Not only that, but poll inlacing a recent Harvard CAPS/Harris poll also found that Trump's policies are very popular, from the border policies to DOGE.

Trump's approval is far higher than the Democrats in Congress, at 52 percent in that Harvard poll.

So no, Rep. Jeffries, the American people are decidedly not with you and all the bad policies that you represent. They voted for change, and that's why they rejected you in the House, the Senate, and the White House.
