There's a point in the movie "Good Will Hunting" where Will gets in a tussle with a snob who is trying to impress a girl. Will ends up getting her number, goes up to the snob, and asks, "Do you like apples?" When he says he does, "Well, I got her number. How do you like them apples?"
Through strength and threatened tariffs, President Donald Trump has just gotten Mexico to agree to provide 10,000 National Guard troops to help interdict drugs and illegal aliens at the border. He's now holding off the tariffs for a month as they continue to talk more.

So Vice President JD Vance just dropped that classic line on the left, calling them out of essentially rooting against the U.S. when it came to the effort for them to do more to interdict drugs and illegal aliens at the border.
For three days a lot of the far left has actively rooted against America and argued we’d get nothing out of President Trunp’s demands that Mexico secure its country.

Talk about a mic drop -- that's exactly right. The left talks but they can't produce results like this. Trump plays hardball and he thinks strategically. But the left isn't thinking America first and what will help, they're thinking control and attack Trump.
We have the leverage -- Mexico can't not listen to us. But you have to try, and you have to employ that strength to make things happen. For years, we've had weak leftists in power who didn't have an issue with people and drugs flooding across our border; indeed, they did all they could to facilitate it by dismantling the security Trump had put in place. The left not only doesn't understand good policy, but they'll also root against it even if rooting against it hurts the U.S. Now we can work on more over the month, with them knowing to take us seriously on tariffs. What they'll need next is private discussions about holding the cartels in check.
On top of that, this news now leaves Canada hanging out on a limb by themselves on the tariff/border question. Trump is supposed to be talking to them later on Monday, so expect more to come there as well. That's going to put more pressure on Canada actually to do something productive now as well. Is he going to continue not to work toward a better resolution with an ally?

That took less than 48 hours.
Haters in disbelief.
