YIKES: What Was That Tim Walz Just Called Kamala Harris at MI Event?

If you judge Kamala Harris by the one big decision she made so far in her campaign — picking Tim Walz as a running mate — she doesn't fare very well.

Walz has largely been a mess, bringing with him a stolen valor scandal and all sorts of prevarications about his life. I think she picked him because he was from the Midwest, and maybe she thought that would resonate in the Rust Belt. But he's a leftist, so I don't think that will work that well with the folks there.

Walz was delegated to an event in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Thursday.

As I wrote earlier, the Harris-Walz campaign got some bad news on Thursday from a report by CBS' Major Garrett about how resilient the support for former President Donald Trump was. Plus, there was a new, post-debate poll that had Trump going up in Michigan by one point.

So Walz had to sell the campaign, and he went heavily on pitching himself as a Midwesterner. I find him so unnatural and over the top — I call him the "Howard Dean scream" in the flesh. But that fits with how fake Kamala Harris is and her cackle.

He came out to a podium with "A New Way Forward" on it. Now, isn't that an indicator of how left they are when their slogan recalls the CCP slogan that resulted in the deaths of millions of people? And mostly, he stood there at the podium, ranting. What he didn't do was present any achievements or plans

He claimed Trump did a "fake town hall" last week on Sept. 4. It was a real town hall, what Walz left out was that Harris wimped out of a debate on Fox where she couldn't have biased ABC moderators to help her. And he, of course, said all kinds of ridiculous nonsense about Trump. They have to keep attacking Trump because they have nothing on which to run. Walz lied about Trump, saying he was going to implement Project 2025.

The attack was also all kinds of projection, saying Trump didn't have a plan. This from a campaign that couldn't even put out any policies on their website until just before the debate, and then in the debate, Harris couldn't give any real answers as to anything. Walz said Trump was trying to tell you your neighbor is the enemy. First, Trump said no such thing, but Joe Biden sure did, demonizing millions of Trump supporters as "extremists."

But he put his foot in it big time when he started to tell a story that he said he loved about Kamala Harris.

"As a young prostituter, Kamala Harris talked about going into that courtroom for the first time," he said. "Kamala Harris, for the people."

I think maybe then he realized what he said because he seemed to swallow hard after that and try to move on, but there was no taking it back. Yes, I double-checked it, and it's real at the YouTube video of the entire event at about 43:18.

That definitely had people laughing and making comments. I don't think anyone had that on their bingo card for him to say. I'm not sure it will make it into a Trump ad, but it's definitely going to make the hilarious highlight reels of all the things that these two characters say at which one can laugh.

Donald Trump Jr. laughed, "Tim Walz is having a rough one tonight." Some said that was too much humor on top of Joe Biden wearing a Trump hat.
