Biden Slips Another Awful Falsehood Into His Story About His Uncle and the Cannibals

It was hard to even write it out on Wednesday as Joe Biden told this very bizarre story multiple times about how his uncle Ambrose Finnegan Jr. was shot down over New Guinea and possibly taken by cannibals. How anyone could even tell such a story is beyond me. As I noted, the story was false in many respects.

But it actually gets worse. Because when he was telling it in Pittsburgh as he was speaking to the union steel workers, he slipped in another despicable falsehood.

Yes, he does imply his uncle was eaten by cannibals, in addition to falsely saying he was a pilot when he was a ground crew member and then using the story to attack former President Donald Trump over the debunked "suckers and losers" story.

But he also claims that his mother's four brothers all went down the next day after D-Day "on a Sunday" and signed up for the military.

In addition to the fact that D-Day wasn't on a Sunday (or Saturday), there's another big problem with that story (and likely many more if we delved into it more). Ambrose Finnegan's plane went down, and he went missing in New Guinea in May 1944. He was already in the military before D-Day, which was June 6, 1944.

He also didn't enlist the day after D-Day as Biden claimed. According to reports, he enlisted in the middle of Jan. 1942.

Biden was probably trying to talk about Pearl Harbor, which was Dec. 7, 1941, which actually was a Sunday. Many people enlisted after that event. And if he can't tell the difference between D-Day and Pearl Harbor, that's a big problem. One was the start of the war, and the other was the beginning of the end, although it still took until April 1945 to finish the job.

Biden is actually shortchanging and diminishing the service of his family members when he says things like this and when he uses them as some sort of pawns to attack Trump.

It's truly a sickness that he makes up stories like this. Exactly who does he think he's convincing to vote for him by suggesting his uncle was eaten by cannibals and talking about answering the door in a motel in a towel? That was another bizarre story to an audience this week. What does he think that inspires beyond people's quizzical looks and speculation that his mind is mush? The union workers behind him didn't look all the happy to be there, but I can't imagine what they must have been saying behind the scenes after he said all this about his uncle.
