It's a sickness at this point with Joe Biden.
I get that when you pander as a politician, you want to relate to the people. But most politicians try to relate with at least one foot in reality. "I care about that issue you care about," for example.
But we've seen Biden make up all kinds of things depending on who his audience might be. We've all heard the stories at this point. It's become a joke about how he's the first guy to occupy the Oval Office who was a truck-driving Jewish Puerto Rican civil rights activist. You can add a ton of other similar claims to those that also have no basis in fact. I wrote the other day how Twitter user Mazemore nailed Biden with his own words about having no Hispanic community in his neighborhood in 1987, which blew the doors off his 2022 claim about being raised in the Puerto Rican community.

Biden Starts Yapping at the Teleprompter Guy During Confused and Embarrassing Speech
On Thursday, Biden held a reception celebrating Greek Independence Day. We touched on some of it earlier with his battle over the teleprompter. You know that any time he has such an event, he's going to break out what a relationship he has with the audience, like clockwork. It doesn't matter. I think if it were a Samoan group, he'd probably make something up about his island heritage. So let's hear Joe Biden -- the guy who spent all his time after school going to Catholic mass at the black church and also supposedly spent time at the Jewish synagogue -- tell us about his "close relationship" with the Greek community and their church. However did he find the time while juggling all those church/synagogue schedules?

Oh, and he gave himself a new name. Here comes Biden with another cringeworthy effort.

Does anyone think that's true? And is that what he thinks being Greek boils down to -- just add "opoulos?" Does he see people as something other than a stereotype? We see that's a big question with the racist and questionable comments that he's made in the past.
Turns out, though, Biden pulling out this name isn't exactly new.
He pulled it out before in 2012 when during that year's election, he got into trouble by approaching some Greek men and introducing himself as "Joe Bidenopoulos." Back then they called it a "gaffe."

'I'm Joe Bidenopoulos,' he said as he approached a table of men 'he knew to be Greek', according to the pool reporter.
With the men no doubt dumfounded, President Barack Obama's second-in-command, who is of Irish descent, went on: 'Ask George who's the most Greek Irishman he's ever known.'
The pool reporter added she was not sure 'who George was, maybe someone at the table', but said it 'sounded like Biden was suggesting he is'.
Biden then made his way around the restaurant "in a somewhat eyebrow-raising manner as he greeted customers and chatted about his love of rice pudding." Did he think saying he liked rice pudding made him sound more Greek? Oh, my.
But that's Joe Biden. He has a problem, and we can't have four more years of it.
