Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) doesn't seem to know much about the situation in Gaza. But that hasn't prevented her from throwing a lot of tantrums about it.
Her latest fit is completely unhinged from reality, where she accuses Israel of genocide in Gaza.
“If you want to know what an unfolding genocide looks like, open your eyes,” the New York Times quotes her as saying in an appeal for US President Joe Biden to suspend aid to Israel. “It looks like the forced famine of 1.1 million innocents. It looks like thousands of children eating grass as their bodies consume themselves, while trucks of food are slowed and halted just miles away.”
She produced no evidence that Israel was doing anything to slow aid into Gaza, so the whole claim was silly to begin with, in addition to her not understanding what genocide actually is.
But the ADL delivered her a smackdown schooling.
Genocide requires intent. And Israel has been patently clear with its objectives: To cripple Hamas terrorists & release the hostages. @AOC's accusation lacks proper factual or legal foundation. Such statements merely perpetuate false claims & foster hate. https://t.co/bmMrQ2nyDg

Exactly. It's not genocide when civilians happen to be killed incidentally in war. And it isn't Israel who's making it difficult for food to get in. It's at least in some part due to Hamas, who also steals the aid. It's also Hamas' fault that the people can't get out to greater safety. But AOC doesn't want to acknowledge that.
She continued to flip out after being delivered a smackdown by the ADL.
Starving a million innocent people to death by halting and slowing US humanitarian assistance is massive, deliberate choice.

Not only is it irrelevant to those objectives, it brings them further out of reach and endangers hostages.
There is no defense for forced famine. https://t.co/WevYNNw8df

Yes, it's a choice by Hamas not to give up the hostages and endanger the people of Gaza. The people of Gaza have been denied things by Hamas authority for years because they spent all the money on building terror tunnels to help them in their attacks on Israel. Where is her call for Hamas to give up and release the hostages here? Instead, she's attacking the victims of terroristic war who are trying to defend themselves. Also, she repeats Hamas propaganda with this "million" people starving claim.
Many scolded AOC in response, including actor Michael Rapaport.
And not a peep on the HOSTAGES,even the female Hostages and during #WomenHistoryMonth https://t.co/xK9nJtjTki
