I've often thought that Joe Biden has a lot of gall.
He says things that are completely false while expecting us just to accept it -- regardless of whether it has any relation to reality. One example is Bidenomics which he tries to sell as beneficial to Americans, even as his Bidenflation is taking money right out of Americans' wallets.
But I have to say, his son Hunter proves that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. He could compete with his father for the crown for sheer gall, based on the op-ed that he just had published in USA Today. It's quietly hilarious at what he's trying to sell us.
The point of the article is to complain about the "political weaponization of [his] addiction" to hurt his father, Joe.
My struggles and my mistakes have been fodder for a vile and sustained disinformation campaign against him, and an all-out annihilation of my reputation through high-pitched but fruitless congressional investigations and, more recently, criminal charges for possessing an unloaded gun for 11 days five years ago – charges that appear to be the first-ever of their kind brought in the history of Delaware.
He claims he isn't a "victim," yet then acts like he's being picked on for his addiction.
What troubles me is the demonization of addiction, of human frailty, using me as its avatar and the devastating consequences it has for the millions struggling with addiction, desperate for a way out and being bombarded by the denigrating and near-constant coverage of me and my addiction on Fox News (more airtime than GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis) and in The New York Post (an average of two stories a dayover the past year). [....]
The weaponization of my addiction by partisan and craven factions represents a real threat to those desperate to get sober but are afraid of what may await them if they do.
This is nonsense. No one is picking on him for his addiction; he's being investigated for potential crimes. He acts as though his "mistakes" (as he terms them) being investigated are somehow an attack on all addicted people. That takes some real nerve.
He even complains about a member of Congress displaying "revenge porn" about him on national television. What he leaves out is that the member was raising concerns about possible Mann Act violations. According to reports, at one point federal authorities were allegedly looking into such offenses against Hunter Biden.
Not only isn't he being picked on or targeted, but Hunter Biden's alleged offenses have gotten a pass for years. Imagine him complaining about a "disinformation campaign" when, in fact, a "disinformation campaign" has been employed to protect him and his father.
Who can forget that letter signed by the 51 former intel officials, who tried to claim that Hunter's laptop was likely Russian disinformation? Who can forget how the NY Post story about the laptop was suppressed on social media platforms in the lead-up to the election, helping Joe Biden?
The congressional investigations Hunter is talking about are not looking into his addiction -- they're looking into whether there was bias in his favor in DOJ investigations of him. They're also looking into the foreign money and connections that went to the Bidens. They're looking into allegations of corruption and influence peddling.
But he truly has no shame, just like his father. He even pulled out the Beau Biden card.
After what I have gone through since my brother died in 2015, and the perpetual public humiliation of me, I am now certain I can survive anything (except a drink or a drug).
Hunter, it isn't anyone else humiliating you. You did that with your actions.
This opinion piece from him comes as more evidence keeps coming out -- about payments that went to Joe Biden, including a $40,000 payment from Chinese sources that House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer says was laundered through Biden's brother.
It says something about USA Today that they would run such cover for the Bidens.
Hunter Biden’s woe-is-me oped in USA Today is a strategic misdirection as congressional investigators close in on his father’s financial involvement in the family’s corrupt influence peddling schemes. It’s not about you, Hunter. https://t.co/1KXcXkKxE4 pic.twitter.com/dXm6Uji1RB

But the spin from the liberal media is already out ... on what a brave character Hunter is.
A really powerful op-ed penned by Hunter Biden on addiction, recovery and how the Republican lurid & unrelenting targeting of him reinforces the demonization of addiction. It deserves to be read. https://t.co/2zo7n5YeG0

Delusional, for sure.
