Biden Descends Into Confusion Over Intros and Ceasefire, Ducks Questions to Head to Situation Room

Joe Biden finally got back from the beach about midday on Monday. He only had one event on his public calendar amidst all the chaos in the Middle East — remarks promoting Bidenomics from the White House, which is basically a thinly disguised effort to promote himself for 2024.

It's a sad commentary that's what he's doing at this point. No matter how many times he tries to sell Bidenomics, he isn't going to convince Americans that he knows what he's doing on the economy. They know what they're feeling in their wallets, and he can't talk them out of the reality. He thinks the problem is just messaging, so he keeps trying things like this. But it's failure that has affected everyone badly across the country.

Not only are the facts a problem for Biden, but every time he tries this, he manages to make things worse.

First, Biden came racing out to the podium, not remembering that he was supposed to be introduced. Just like with his speech on Friday night, he can't even get the basics of the procedures right, much less the substance. This is embarrassing.

Then there was the day's fight with the teleprompter, screwing up the names of two representatives.

The teleprompter is huge. If he can't read it, as it is clear he can't, there's a big problem with his ability to see or his ability to understand what is on it. They can't make it any bigger than it already is, yet he keeps having this problem.

But then he said he needed to leave and couldn't answer their questions because there was an issue he had to go to the Situation Room to deal with.

In general, you're not supposed to talk about that, but he did. And unfortunately, with his people, we don't know if that's true, or whether they are just trying to get him out of these because of his gaffes and so he doesn't have to answer questions. The look on Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo's face was funny.

But the reporters did manage to slip in one more question before Biden ducked out of the room.

One asked, "Is the U.S. supporting the hostages for a ceasefire deal?"

Biden turned and said, "We should have a ceasefire." Then he seemed to realize that he blew that and tried to clean it up and pull it back. "Not a ceasefire. We should have those hostages released, and then we can talk."

How do you not get that straight? The problem is every time he goes off the script they give him, he gets into trouble. That's why they have to keep cutting off the press, so they don't get comments like that, undercutting Israel and common sense. He seems to have no idea what he's saying from one minute to the next.

But this is why all the bad actors are on the move. The weakness is so incredibly dangerous.
