Democrat Los Angeles Supervisor Lindsey Horvath Mocks Catholicism in Tweet Honoring Drag Nuns at Dodger Stadium

As we reported, the Dodgers‘ effort to honor anti-Catholic drag queens who mock real nuns and the Catholic faith did not go well.

The appearance of the “Sisters of the Perpetual Indulgence” was met by a massive protest outside the stadium at one of the entrances, with thousands of Catholics and non-Catholics praying and calling the Dodgers out for recognizing such a group. Many also wore red to recognize the sacred heart and there were a lot of Hispanic Catholics among the protesters.

Inside the stadium, at the time when the group was honored before the game with a Community Hero Award, there were virtually no people yet in their seats. That was also another indictment of what people thought about the group, with no one trying to be there for when the group was going to be recognized. While there were a couple of scattered claps from the mostly empty stadium, there were also some loud boos.

But there was one person who didn’t seem to be able to read the room and embraced the group at the event, it was Los Angeles County Supervisor Lindsay Horvath. This isn’t surprising, though, since she is the politician who was so proud of “brokering” an agreement between the Dodgers and the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, something my colleague Jennifer Van Laar described as a “struggle session” in a blistering op-ed.

“Congratulations to the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence on your honor tonight at Dodger’s Pride Night,” Horvath declared. “Your commitment to service and our Catholic values inspires me 🙏🏼Now, let’s go Dodgers!”

I think it’s fair to say that she was ratioed into next week for her take on their commitment to “Catholic values.”

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva was one of the many locals who let Horvath have it, tweeting out, “I was unaware that using the Holy Cross as a stripper’s pole was a Catholic value. As an elected supervisor, if that “inspires” you, please resign NOW.”

Van Laar, just like an editor, also corrected her spelling of Dodgers.

Los Angeles has a lot of Catholics who are not going to look very kindly on Horvath’s remark and hopefully, they let her know it by voting her out. It says she doesn’t care much about people being anti-Catholic. If she thinks that’s representative of Catholic values, just how out of whack is her judgment?

In addition to how disrespectful this was to Catholics, Horvath, and the drag duo were also standing under the name of Vin Scully, the legendary Dodger broadcaster, who was the epitome of class, dignity, and professionalism, everything this isn’t.

The Dodgers should have known better. But Catholics and people who thought this was horrible let the team know on Friday that they were not going to be quiet and let this go by. This is a big warning to others who would go woke and embrace such things. Americans are not going to be quiet anymore and they are going to stand against such actions.
