Ron Klain Hits Epic Heights of Delusion With Comments About Biden, Americans, Media

I wrote on Tuesday a little bit about how Joe Biden is a serial fabricator and lives in a fantasy world. In that fantasy world, he’s the hero, the full professor, the top of his class, the football star, and the civil rights activist. He’s spent decades spreading lies about himself.

But Biden has been assisted in the White House in spreading some of his more recent fantasies by White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain.

Klain spoke to Chris Whipple for his upcoming book about Joe Biden, “The Fight of His Life: Inside Joe Biden’s White House.” Klain told Whipple that Biden sometimes felt that “God dealt him a terrible hand — worse than FDR’s”

While Biden’s approval rating peaked at the beginning of his presidency, it took a dramatic 6-point drop, according to Gallup, in the weeks following the Afghanistan withdrawal on Aug. 30, 2021, which critics have often compared to the fall of Saigon. The president’s approval rating cratered to 38% in July of this year, the lowest of any president in Gallup’s history, amid record inflation.

During an interview with Whipple on Dec. 18, 2021, Klain reportedly said Biden had “the most successful first year of any president ever” but that the media “invents” panic to detract from it.

“What frustrates him is the media going into a frenzy about whether or not anyone will be able to buy a turkey for Thanksgiving and whether everyone’s Christmas presents will show up,” Klain was quoted as saying.

“Everyone did get a turkey, and all the Christmas presents did arrive on time,” he said. “If there isn’t a real panic, it seems like the media invents the panic.” [….]

At the time of Klain’s reported comments, the consumer price index was up 6.8%, and a Thanksgiving dinner had cost U.S. consumers an average of 14% more than it did in 2020. This year, a Thanksgiving meal rose an additional 20% since 2021.

Klain said that they needed to get their political agenda through Congress, and it “matters a lot. But right now, people wish we were more focused on gas prices and hamburger prices than whether or not we’re going to build bridges or have free pre-K.”

How dare people be more concerned about inflation than about the Democrats’ political agenda? That inflation that Joe Biden made worse by his political agenda pushed through in the American Rescue Plan. FDR had to deal with the Depression. Biden wasn’t even saddled with inflation — he was gifted with an economy already recovering and coming back from the pandemic when he screwed it up with excessive spending. He helped to bring on inflation. That’s on him. What a window into how little they truly care about the real concerns of the American people.

The problems of the Afghanistan withdrawal were also mostly of his own making. He had months to resolve the situation and get our allies out. I’d been writing about it since May 2021. But then he left behind so many of the people who helped us, left Americans behind, and pretended like he did something successful when he threw many unvetted people on planes. Americans saw how he handled it, and for the first time, there was a lot of focus on how incompetent he was — that’s why his approval plummeted after that and has never fully recovered.

How much are they living in a fantasy? The “most successful first year” ever? Few first years could have been worse or been so harmful to his country, so quickly. It’s the media’s fault that they reported on the supply chain crisis, that it “invents” panic? So is Klain even denying the severe issues of the supply chain crisis? Sorry, Americans who suffered from shortages or delays, Ron Klain thinks you’re inventing that. We had food shortages across the country that we hadn’t seen before in any of our lifetimes. But sure, go with that, Ron. The media that bends over for you guys constantly just invented that, we must have all imagined it. Joe Biden acted as if we didn’t even know what a “supply chain” was.

Last year, Klain retweeted someone who called inflation and the supply chain crisis “high-class problems.” I’m thinking all the Americans who have had to suffer with inflation over the past two years would have a few things to say to Klain.

As I’ve said in the past, there’s wrong. Then there’s Ron Klain-level wrong, which is roughly equivalent to Paul Krugman/Jennifer Rubin-level wrong. Inflation was 1.4 percent when Biden came in. He wasn’t dealt a bad hand. He was dealt a great hand. All he had to do was sit on it, do nothing even and he would have been sitting pretty. Instead, their focus was their agenda, not what was best for the country or the American people.
