Trump Completely Levels New Witness' Story About What He Did on Jan. 6

As we previously reported, the Jan. 6 Committee called a special hearing on Tuesday, after previously saying they weren’t going to have any more hearings until July. Now, I’m calling them “hearings” because that’s the general term being used. But they’re not really “hearings” as we normally understand a government hearing. These are completely controlled events with a set agenda–trying to smear President Donald Trump and Republicans–that have nothing at all to do with a search for the truth or any regard at all for objectivity or truth.

But the reason I wanted to mention this hearing is because of the “big” news that they think they had for the hearing, apparently to call Cassidy Hutchinson, a former aide to Trump’s former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. But once again, the problem with this testimony reveals the problem with this whole Committee. What is this about, if it isn’t about the riot? Yet nothing they seem to have has anything at all to do with showing any evidence that the Trump people were involved in planning or participating in the riot.

The story from Hutchinson — billed as something big — seemed more about telling gossip about Trump, which seems to be the aim of the Committee. I wanted to talk about it because this is the level of nonsense that they are putting out.

One of the ‘big’ stories from Hutchinson was something that she didn’t even witness. They just had her repeating hearsay — a story she said she heard someone else say — that Trump wanted to go to the Capitol and tried to grab the wheel from the driver of “The Beast” — the vehicle the president is driven in, but they didn’t think it was safe for him to go there.

I don’t think this is having the effect that they hoped it would.

First, it’s hearsay, so the Committee is having her “testify” about something she didn’t even see. So how is she a “witness” to this? Why didn’t they have the people testify who allegedly saw it? But in a regular court of law, they wouldn’t generally be accepted in evidence.

Second, what does that have to do with the riot? Again, nothing. What’s it supposed to prove, even if it were true? That he was upset? That he wanted to go the Capitol to help calm the situation? What?

Third, I doubt that, given the structure of “The Beast,” since the President sits in the back seat, and there are seats, as well as a partition in between him and the driver. We’re supposed to believe Trump somehow managed to make it to the wheel to grab it, past other Secret Service people? Congratulations, he’s much more athletic than I ever gave him credit for, and more so than a member of the Secret Service.

Let’s just say the story wasn’t going over well with people.

Even Trump called it ridiculous and impossible.

Her Fake story that I tried to grab the steering wheel of the White House Limousine in order to steer it to the Capitol Building is “sick” and fraudulent, very much like the Unselect Committee itself – Wouldn’t even have been possible to do such a ridiculous thing.

Then he leveled her completely, saying if she thought he was so terrible, why did she want to follow him to Florida for a job there when he went there?

I hardly know who this person, Cassidy Hutchinson, is, other than I heard very negative things about her (a total phony and “leaker”), and when she requested to go with certain others of the team to Florida after my having served a full term in office, I personally turned her request down. Why did she want to go with us if she felt we were so terrible? I understand that she was very upset and angry that I didn’t want her to go, or be a member of the team. She is bad news!

Sorry, Committee. If you thought you had something, you killed it yourself with this ridiculousness.
