Joe Biden issued a formal statement about the leak of the draft SCOTUS opinion referring to Roe v. Wade. He then made everything worse by lying about the draft and what it means.
But he wasn’t the only one on his team weighing in on the subject. Kamala Harris also issued a statement because she couldn’t just stand by what Biden said; she needed to have the attention. Just like Joe Biden, she didn’t seem to give a darn about the leak and the sanctity of the Court. Her only concern? How do we get what we want, come hell or high water, even if we attack the Court and demonize Republicans in the process? This is an exercise in delusion.

“Roe ensures a woman’s right to choose to have an abortion. It also, at its root, protects the fundamental right to privacy,” Harris said. “What is clear is that the opponents of Roe want to punish women and take away their rights to make decisions about their own bodies. Republican legislators in states across the country are weaponizing the use of the law against women.
The rights of all Americans are at risk. If the right to privacy is weakened, every person could face a future in which the government can potentially interfere in the personal decisions you make about your life. This is the time to fight for women and for our country with everything you have.”
So, not only is she stoking anger against the Court and Republicans, she’s exaggerating it as an attack on women (have they figured out what a “woman” is yet?) and an effort to take away their rights. Both she and Biden are trying to say this goes beyond abortion to other rights, to make it sound even worse.
Yet, what they leave out is if they had the majority to pass pro-abortion legislation, they could. Indeed, it hasn’t passed because they don’t have the votes federally–without killing the filibuster.
There’s a bill to codify Roe v. Wade protections into federal law.
It has passed the House.
It tops out at 48 votes in Senate (all Dems except Manchin & Casey).
Nuking filibuster wouldn’t be enough; it lacks 50 in Senate.

“This is the time to fight for women and our country with everything we have,” Harris declared. Imagine if President Donald Trump has said something like this. Indeed, he did and he was accused of insurrection. We now have mobs at the Supreme Court — both Harris and Biden are stoking this. We even have Democrats calling for “revolution,” and Gavin Newsom calling on people to have them feel our “fury.”
So, can we call it “insurrection” yet? Let’s hope that this doesn’t get out of hand — but knowing the way the left operates and that we’re going into the summer, prepare for the protest/riots that are coming. But Democrats wouldn’t call that an “insurrection” — even as they incite it.
As we noted, they don’t have the votes to pass this federally. So I see a lot of Democrats asking Kamala Harris if they are to “fight,” what is the plan? There doesn’t appear to be a plan, apart from trying to use it to gin up people to get out and vote. That’s what this is about. But this may backfire on the Democrats too, if people on the left view them as not doing anything. They’re already yelling at her, because of her generic comments without a plan.
I mean, maybe get a little angrier than this? Fight HOW? https://t.co/c2461WG6vi
