I reported earlier about the problems that Joe Biden had yesterday. First, he canceled remarks he was supposed to make about the supply chain crisis. The excuse was he wanted to spend more time at a meeting he was holding for CEOs on the subject. But as we noted, perhaps the problem was more the issues he appeared to be having at that meeting, which he wasn’t even running, so he likely could have left.

But today is a new day. And with every new day comes another moment in the roiling chaos that is the Biden Administration.

One of the things that the White House reporters always have to face when it comes to Biden is just how late will he be this time? Today, he was reportedly 40 minutes late for a bill signing event.

Biden does that same thing that he often does: he takes off the mask when people are closer to him to talk to them, which sort of defeats his whole argument for wearing the mask.

But then he had an instant classic.

Joe Biden said that for many years, Kamala Harris “has led the fight to address the tragedy of maternal morality — maternal mortality in our nation.” Whoops. I have to say when I saw that, I couldn’t help but have immediate thoughts about Harris’ background and how she acquired power because of her relationship with Willie Brown. Perhaps that was a Freudian slip on the part of Biden if he had those same thoughts. Or perhaps it’s a troll, as some speculated happened at the infrastructure bill signing event where Harris earned the nickname of “Heather Kurtenbach” after she was mistakenly announced with that name. But given Biden’s issues, it’s probably just one more of his gaffes.

You usually read the title of the bill before the signing and there it is flashing above his head, but he gives up.

You can hear him say he isn’t going to read the whole thing, but heck, he didn’t even read the basic title, which wasn’t particularly hard – “Hire Veteran Health Heroes Act of 2021.”

On the next one to be signed, you can hear him go through the whole process again, saying this time “Amend title” but then saying he isn’t going to read the whole thing. This one was too challenging for him — the “Colonel John M. McHugh Tuition Fairness for Survivors Act of 2021.”

That’s Democrats in a nutshell — he’s not going to read it, he’s just going to sign it. I wonder if he even knows what he’s signing anymore?
