Joe Biden has let the border crisis get completely out of control. It’s a crisis completely of his own making because he changed the policies of President Donald Trump and basically gave hope to the illegal aliens that they would get to stay because of his words. That resulted in a massive influx of illegal aliens ever since Biden took office, with over 200,000 being encountered in August.
The problem was highlighted even more when thousands began to camp out under the International Bridge in Del Rio, Texas, reaching almost 15,000 at the highest point, with horrible conditions.
But still, the liberal media largely ignored the story and didn’t seem to care about those people until the fake story about the Border Patrol whipping came out.
The Biden team has tried to say they are dealing with the problem of the large numbers of people by deporting people back to Haiti but in fact, as we reported, many are being taken to other places in the United States and released.
That’s created a division on the left and within the Biden Administration itself — including with those who are against the deportations. Now one of them is throwing the Biden team under the bus.
The U.S. Special Envoy to Haiti — Daniel Foote — who was just appointed to the position in July, is stepping down, claiming he wouldn’t support the “inhumane” policy of the Biden administration.
In a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, first reported by PBS, Daniel Foote said he was resigning immediately “with deep disappointment and apologies to those seeking crucial changes.”
“I will not be associated with the United States inhumane, counterproductive decision to deport thousands of Haitian refugees and illegal immigrants to Haiti, a country where American officials are confined to secure compounds because of the danger posed by armed gangs to daily life,” he wrote.
But it gets even more interesting than that. Foote says his input was not only ignored it was “edited” to suggest things other than what he meant.
“Our policy approach to Haiti remains deeply flawed, and my policy recommendations have been ignored and dismissed, when not edited to project a narrative different from my own,” Foote continued.
The outgoing special envoy said people in Haiti remain “mired in poverty, hostage to the terror, kidnappings, robberies and massacres of armed gangs and suffering under a corrupt government with gang alliances.”
He said the struggling country “simply cannot support the forced infusion of thousands of returned migrants lacking food, shelter, and money without additional, avoidable human tragedy.”
Fascinating. So who is “editing” what he has to say and why? And isn’t this typical of the Biden team trying to shut down information that they don’t want out there?
Foote said we shouldn’t be backing a “winner” in Haitian politics which he said we were doing by supporting Prime Minister Ariel Henry. That’s been a common problem over decades when it comes to Haiti and elsewhere. He said that the focus should be on helping the country deal with the gangs to restore order. But it’s Joe Biden, who’s never right on foreign policy. So no wonder this guy quit.
So this puts Biden not only at odds with the folks demanding that something be done about the border, but with those on the left who are against deportations, as well.
Will this prompt the Biden team to do anything to re-examine what they are doing? Probably not, they seem to have the golden ability to blow up anything they touch.
